Politico:

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is increasingly aiming its punches not at her front-running opponent Barack Obama, but at the media.

On the campaign trail, in a new ad and in her meetings with donors and superdelegates, she blasts the D.C. punditocracy for counting her out and urges anyone who'll listen to ignore the hardening storyline that places Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee.

I don't know whats more sad:
Hillary creating all these false metrics
or
her belligerent minions buying into to them.

Hillary it was your husband that allowed the consolidation of media. Funny, I would tend to blame the media in your political demise but I feel you have done this to yourself. If you had just voted like a Democrat and not a corporate hack, I think you might be in a better position. Since you are a corporatist and a stooge for the power elite the smart voters(the ones that woke up) rejected your bullshit.

Huffington Post. Please ignore Hillary. She lost the primary and any headlines she gets distracts from the general elect ion battle with McCain.

Hillary. You lost. Please go away.

However, whizzer, I have to give you credit. At least you come up with original posts. That much is at least appreciated.

You are correct, we are trying to elect a Democrat. Please join fellow Democrats and our nominee, Barack Obama, in our effort to win against McBush.

"She also talked about the blogosphere, saying she deeply regrets the vitriol and mean spiritedness and insults that have been thrown around at bloggers for supporting her and at women in general..."

I'm sorry, but clearly she hasn't seen the racist hateful crap that her supporters have thrown at the Obama crowd. This is not onsided...and merely shows how much she likes to toss out the victim card. What can we say...sorry the voters denied you.

It's strange isn't it that Senator Clinton wasn't complaining about the media when they were slamming Obama with Reverend Wright soundbites 24/7 for six weeks! She wasn't getting much coverage then either, but I guess the massive coverage he was receiving was more to her liking.

The Hillary camp was once notorious for their successful attempts to strongarm the media.

You have to be a joke, er, I mean joking.
Despite all the Clintons did for this country - none of it has been thanks to the media.

The joke is on the joke, er, I mean YOU.

"Not that her staff isn't policing them too. Mrs. Clinton's people are heavy-handed in that area, letting producers and correspondents know they're watching, weighing, may have to take this higher. There's too much of this in politics, but Hillary's campaign takes it to a new level."

http://online.wsj.com/article/declarations.html#

All that the Clintons did for this country happened in the 90s, and Hillary had very little to do with ANY of it.

Has Hillary been reading my comments?

I've been going bonkers for months that it's all about the ELECTORAL COLLEGE. Dems have got to stop playing for the Pennant, and eyeball the WORLD SERIES.

As of current projections, based on state-by-state polls-of-polls:

Clinton 279, McCain 242, Tie 17. Clinton wins by 37.
Obama 237, McCain 290, , Tie 11. Obama LOSES by 53.
www.electoral-college.com

****

Next, note in particular those SIX states in which WHICH Dem makes a difference. (States not listed below are eithe red, blue, or tie REGARDLESS of which Dem is polled opposite McCain.)

Colorado (9), Iowa (7) - Obama beats McCain, but McCain beats Hillary.
Total 16

HOWEVER

Florida (27), Ohio (20), Arkansas (6), West Virginia (5) -- Clinton beats McCain, but McCain beats Obama.
Total 58

Net advantage? 42 Electoral College votes Hillary over Obama vs. McCain IN THOSE STATES IN WHICH WHICH DEM MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

****

It's the MAP, not the math. Damn straight.

It's too early for the Obama vs McCain and Clinton vs McCain polls to be meaningful at all. We don't even have a nominee yet. The Dems are still divided.

That will change by November. Either Dem would cream McCain.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:40 PM on 05/17/2008

Uh, no. Ya think an A vs. B poll would be meaningful AFTER C vs. B is off the table?

Right now is when, with two in a close race vs. a third is when they are MOST meaningful. In contrast, consider a Huckabee or McCain vs. any Dem poll. In which case, I'd agree with you.

- AMJordan I'm a Fan of AMJordan 27 fans permalink

None of that is worth looking at until there is one Democrat facing McCain. Until then the vote is divided. Despite the screaming of the teeny-boppers, there are a lot of Clinton or Obama supporters who will vote for the other come November instead of McCain.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:43 PM on 05/17/2008

Dems who will vote the "other" Dem-idate are already accounted for.

If there is LYING to spite the pollsters, I would guess the degree is comparable, but have no way of knowing.

Note that there are a good number of states where one Dem is greatly preferred over the other, but that I did NOT highlight. Why? Again, they both win or they both lose in November.

I went to that site and got a little different information than you did. Here's what I got.

Strong Dem Electoral votes - 142 Weak Dem - 79 Barely Dem - 16

Strong GOP Electoral votes - 97 Weak GOP - 73 Barely GOP - 120 and 11 tied.

I will take those odds any day. The GOP has as almost as many barely as the Dems have Strong.

This was Obama against McCain btw.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:51 PM on 05/17/2008

In fairness, as I understand, DailyKos shares a similar perspective to yours.

How you can take THOSE odds when a similar comparison for Hillary is even stronger is MY point.

Strong Dem Electoral votes - 136 Weak Dem - 121 Barely Dem - 22
Strong GOP Electoral votes - 145 Weak GOP - 45 Barely GOP - 52 and 17 tied.

Comparing the two sets, I'd say Hillary is more polarizing than Obama. But we already knew that.

Another look:
Strong+Weak Dem: Obama 221. Hillary 257. Advantage Hillary.
Strong+Weak Repub: 170 vs Obama. 190 vs Hillary. Advantage Obama, by about the same.

And how many of those strong Dem votes -- for EITHER -- are Cali, New York, PA, NJ, and IL? A whopping 143. But we've LOST with the Gore and Kerry map before.

Rotsa ruck getting Obama in without Florida or Ohio -- two states where Hillary is solid. You count them as potential pick-ups "barely GOP" Hmmmm.

Obama 48
McCain 08?

The Hillary camp was once notorious for their successful attempts to strongarm the media.
They're not paying attention any more, and it's pissing Hillary off.

Enough already Hillary. The media has moved on. McCain has moved on. And Obama has moved on.
Go back to D.C. and resume your distinguished career as a United States Senator.

It wasn't that distinguished, that was one of the things which hurt her most. Her most outstanding achievement was kissing up to GW Bush like a love struck adolescent.

she can't see what is going on. she is in her bubble... which is only natural when you have had executive power for over twenty years.... and at this point she is a little tone deaf when it comes to "reality".

it won't be long... but its actually hard to watch sometimes.

its sort of like watching an old boxer not hear the bell in a fight he is losing. its sad.

Why are comments disappearing from this site? They get posted, show up, and then they disappear. Of course, the ones I've noticed are either pro-Clinton or anti-Obama comments. I don't know if any others are disappearing or not.

One wonders....can you people not take hearing views that disagree with your own?

If opposing views do not work, then maybe you should try facts. I heard those are effective as well, but that was someones views.
