I want you to pay very close attention. I want you to read this article from the International Herald Tribune.

I also want Arianna Huffington to read it.

I will sit back and wait for Arianna to publicly respond to this article. I see nothing on her Website in regards to it.

I can't believe this - someone here actually thinks Arianna should be part of Obama's administration? Have you people lost your mind? The only reason she got people to invest in this place in because of her husband's last name, she gets publicity because her celebrity buddies like writing, or rather having their assistants write, pieces here because they're also self-absorbed people.

Question: Arianna, now that you're in charge of homeland security what are your priorities?

AH: I'm in the process of writing my new book, "My Dinner with McCain and what he told me about voting for Bush" and I think everyone should buy it because it's the patriotic thing to do!

Question: How do you plan to prevent more terrorist attaks?

AH: Has anyone in Al Queda read my new book?

Question: Do you think attacking Iran is a good idea?

AH: Absolutely! They won't even sell my books there! They need a democracy where people are allowed to buy any book they want! I was just telling my publicist that we need to expand overseas!

And the best part is where they say she "exposes fraud on a daily basis" and I noticed that also. Her reporting on the Spitzer scandal was brilliant - she really focused on the important issues and how the Republcans clearly wanted him out of office before the Fed started loaning money to investment banks.

She is another Woodward and Bernstein with her brilliant pieces about the scandal:

"Poll: How many emperor club diamonds are you?"

"More pictures of the prostitute!"

"How do you know if your husband uses prostitutes? A ten step test for paranoid women everywhere!"

NO MONEY TO THE DNC UNTIL OBAMA IS THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE...PERIOD!

do we understand POLITICS?
the end game is to WIN, thru alla history "alls been fair in love, war and POLITICS." if HRC's the VP pick or Obama's the nominee, many of you will sit out, get your revenge. we all suffer when you do.
niave posts about giving the DNC $, how you wont do it if the money could pay off HRC's debt...guess what, her debt WILL be paid off and OBAMA will assist along w the DNC. why? THAT'S POLITICS. if YOU REALLY WANT OBAMA TO WIN, you should BEG him to pick HRC-VP candidate's the attack dog, she excels at that. if you THINK the GOP isn't going to RIP Obama, then you must've missed the sunday talk shows yesterday.
This is one HRC supporter that isnt having ANY of that! Time we stopped insulting each other and got serious about winning; i'll go ahead and remind you that Bill Clinton is the ONLY democrat since FDR to win the white TWICE. love them-hate them, DO YOU WANT TO WIN? Or is it more important to sit on your moral high ground and wallow in your self righteousness?
i think its about winning, but go ahead, tell me AGAIN about how corrupt and awful the Clintons are. i've grown immune to it b/c ALL I CARE ABOUT IS BEATING MCCAIN!
CARE TO JOIN ME IN VICTORY? or will you be happy if McCain is the POTUS and you maintained your righteousness?

I suspect that Hill's debt is going to be
substantially more than $20 million.

The NY Times showed her leaving her
727 parked on the tarmac. No crowds,
no reporters, and in the background this
plane that stretched on forever.

What kind of mileage does a 727 get?

Obama was flying one of those small
commercial jets.

Can't we let Obama's Campaign Team be the new DNC?

I want everyone who is on the Obama campaign Team to be apart of his administration. The most advanced and tactical Campaign Team in history. The huge story which is not talked about, is the amazing team of unspoken Hero's who have catapulted Obama to the #1 most respected man in the world. Who are these amazing Americans?

It is without question that once they take office, they completely dismantle the current DNC to the point of absolute abolishment. We are talking about rebuilding the Democratic Party from the ground up, starting at the headquarters of the DNC. Clean all the bathrooms, and change all the sheets. They are filthy.

Also it is without brutal exception that Arianna Huffington also be apart of Obama's Administration. Lets be clear about Arianna. She has kept them honest during this campaign cycle. Without Arianna exposing fraud on a daily basis, Hillary would have won the nomination. Arianna Huffington has also helped to save America. I will vote for Arianna Huffington as the first women President when the time comes.

Yeh, it's a horrible irony that Obama ran
one of the best campaigns in American
political history while Hill's was a train
wreck from the start.

Why didn't she stop Penn when he
presented the Big State Plan, a plan
based on Penn's wrong assumption that
the DNC awarded delegates 'winner take
all?'

This is the stuff of satire.

When did Penn find out that delegates
are awarded proportionally?

she has the same problem McCain has,

I will continue to donate to Obama. Hillary needs to come out and explain what sexist things she thinks has been done against her by Obama. I see all of her supporters saying this and I would like some examples of these charges.

He ran against her when it was her turn. And that made her run a really terrible campaign. And so he won in Iowa. Which made her cry in New Hampshire. And then it just devolved from there. Finally, he called a female reporter "sweetie."

her usual refrain when losing....let it alone - we need to focus on Cain now

Gore is doing what he does best, playing the role of peacemaker.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:40 PM on 05/19/2008

This is exactly the reason Gore hasn't endorsed during the primary season... As he said all along, someone with high profile party credibility had to remain neutral, so they'd be able to do the work of bringing tha party together once the nomination was settled. (And I know, Obama has not clinched, but anyone living in realityland knows it's just a matter of time at this point.)

It's great to see that Gore stayed true to his word in spite of all the rumors and pressures about running, endorsing, etc. It's too bad that the nature of politics is such that the really good people are smart enough to stay out of it (even if it took Gore a while to figure that out.)

I've received several "begging" emails from the DNC - and I have answered everyone - ALL my donations are going to OBAMA until he is the nominee, AND then I will donate to the DNC.... not one second before.

I could not agree more. Gore has self-annointed himself as a uniter while he stood by and watched the slimiest, dirtiest primary campaign ever by the Democrats. Shame on the DNC leadsrship and shame on Gore for allowing the Clintons, Republicans, McCain and Bush to gain even an ounce of traction as they preyed on people's fears and bigotry. Hillary should run as McCain's VP! That is where she belongs.

All my contributions went to Obama, and if they allow her to steal this nomination with her nonsensical math games that change all the rules midstream, then pehaps they need a BIG lesson from tjhe electorate. LOSE and shake the country up, as we move to a realigned political landscape that will turn out the old guard!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:46 PM on 05/19/2008

you must be a first-time voter if you think this was a slimy campaign. Get real.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:47 PM on 05/19/2008

Not even worth a response since you are clearly a right wing Republican who has slipped into the blog as a "Hillary Supporter". Trust me: I am NOT a first time voter. I am just one of those pathetic, elitist "educated types" who uses his brains!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:03 PM on 05/19/2008

Look, she did run a slimy, dirty campaign, but that's the way it's always been done. Pity Senator Clinton for not realizing that the country is really hungry for change. Pity her, because she is losing, and has lost credibility and destroyed her own and her husband's legacy by her own acts. She has diminished them both.

She can now continue to run a vindictive, vile, and unethical campaign to delegitimize the front-runner, but she will still tank. History will remember her not for her singular accomplishments and her fight against misogyny, but for being a loser, an also-ran, a woman of poor character. That's a tough sentence. True, she brought it on herself, but.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:07 PM on 05/19/2008

But what? I hope you are not joining the chorus of folks that say we should look past this and support HER if she gets the nomination. That would be a violation of every principle of decency that I can imagine. Better the country get another dose of Bush so we can usher in the real chnage that is coming, which will realign the country, draw on a whole new generation of young people, and stop spending all our time pandering to people's fears and bigotry. If it doesn't ahppen now, it will happen in the next 4 to 8 years and that is what really scares the right wing. The New Deal, which they tried so hard to dismantle, will re-emerge, albeit in a somewaht different way, but with the interests of the average person coming first. Imagine a country that once again leads in health care, ecuation, technology and (yes) manufacturing.

Now, if she loses, I have advocated an olive branch and would really respect Obama to make HIS own decison on what role she should play (VP?), or how to help her raise funds. I can live with that, and I would love to see a woman VP so we can stop this silliness that Hillary lost because she is a woman. Hillary lost because of her own mitakes, her own nasty politics, some serious misjudgements, and a group of really bad advisors (starting with her hubby).

I don't like the feeling of being "held hostage" by the Clinton supporters. I don't like the threats that her supporters are throwing at Obama supporters. You know, "vote for Hillary or we'll vote for McCain or stay home". I am trying to convince myself that Hillary supporters will do neither. I'm trying to convince myself that they will not vote against their own self interest.

Sab, I think the majority of "so-called" Clinton supports that are bashing and acting like women scorned are NOT REALLY Clinton supporters, they are plants to piss people off with the hopes of separating the party. Take the high road here and lets give them the benefit of the doubt keeping that in mind is my suggestion.

I will continue to send my support directly to Obama's campaign. I will not be sending the DNC any money at all until Hillary has finally 'finished what she set out to do' My hard earned dollars will not be used to pay back her loans to herself, or for her campaign manager's loans.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:54 PM on 05/19/2008

No donations that you send to Obama or to the DNC may be used to pay her debts.
It's illegal.

Hillary gets NO money from the DNC---and neither does Obama.

The DNC will far out raise the RNC but not until the primaries are over and the Dems have one candidate. Just look at the fundraising of Clinton and Obama combined v.s. McCain, and for that matter, all the other Republican candidates. Obama by himself has out raised all the Republican candidates COMBINED.

And since most of us have not maxed out, the potential for further fundraising is enormous.

Also, go through the primaries and total the votes by party instead of by candidates. Even if a few stupid ditto heads crossed over and was counted, look at the differential in the number of voters each side attracted. The difference is enormous.

Things look a lot bleaker for the Republicans even if the MSM and Republican pundits make it out to be otherwise. Just look at the three special congressional elections thus far, in previously very red districts.

My other thought about Gore's meeting is, isn't that the same day some of these folks are meeting to settle the Florida & mich thing? Doesn't Dean who is giving this party have to be there? Well its at night so maybe he is doing both.

No he doesn't "Have to be there". This is a meeting of the Rules and Credentials Committee. It has it's own Chair who will run the meeting.
