Hillary Clinton Targets Sexist Media

Women of all ages and nationalities push against the rope line carrying books and T-shirts, posters and stuffed animals -- anything for her to autograph. They tote huge signs that shout "Hillary Cares About Me"-- and they tearfully grab her hand to implore her to stick it out, to take her trailing campaign all the way to the Democratic convention in Denver.

They say they have come to show support for Hillary Clinton not merely because she is a woman or because her campaign is breaking historic ground, but because she speaks to them about their real problems and they are furious at the way she has been treated.

This is all so Clintonesque! This is just like a Clinton...blame it all on others for their own failings and a poorly managed campaign. Now, my fellow Americans (and especially White Americans): what if Senator Obama went around whining and sniveling to the corporate media, and to anyone who"d listen, that his failure to win OH, PA, IN, WV and KY were primarily due to racist Whites who would rather vote against their own best interests than to vote for a Black man? If he was doing that, Obama would be roasted alive by the corporate media and totally vilified by a vast majority of Whites. Obama's candidacy would be torpedoed if he and his campaign behaved in such fashion, even though what happened to him in those states has a definite ring of truth about the racial situation.

But here comes HRC, lashing out at the media, the Obama campaign and others for sexism and the corporate media gives her full court press and a pass to do so. If this is the way mainstream women and feminists want to achieve total equality with men¦being tough and wanting equal treatment, but then "play the sexism victim" when it is convenient, then indeed women have a very long way to go to obtain equality and the White House.

Hillary HAS paved the way in one very interesting way: now, wives of presidents can be president, too!

Michelle Obama in 2016? Whoo-hoo!

Thanks, Hillary!

1. SIXTEEN months ago, Hillary Clinton, along with ALL the other 8 candidates who were running for the democratic nomination, ALL OF THEM, signed a contract which said that because they broke party rules and decided to move up their primary voting date, that the states of Florida, and Michigan would not count.
BUT when Hillary started losing the race, she STARTED LYING, ACTING as though she had not actually signed a contract. even when shw was confronted with her lies on television.

2. Not only is Hillary trying to get the votes in Florida, and Michigan counted, ( ONLY because she needs them to win), Hillary has said that she wants to EXCLUDE all the votes that were cast in states with caucases. She says that they should not. Now Hillary does not want the votes cast by voters in caucus states counted. (There goes Hillary's whole argument that she wants EVERY vote to count) The fact is that Hillary only wants the votes in the states SHE won to count. So if you live in a caucus state, Hillary DOES NOT think ANY of your votes should count, And she said so!!

THIS IS THE TYPE OF MANIPULATION, AND DISHONESTY WE CAN EXPECT FROM HILLARY AS PRESIDENT. SHE HAS ALREADY SHOWN SHE HAS NO RESPECT FOR RULES, OR CONTRACTS.
WATCHING HILLARY LIE, AND CHANGE THE RULES WHENEVER SHE FEELS LIKE IT, SHOW THAT SHE IS MANIPULATIVE, AND DECEPTIVE, AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO KEEP HER WORD!

I second your emotion! I just heard Hillary speaking to a FL audience and was floored at her patently offensive spin. And now these sexist charges? I'll give her this much...it makes me ill to see the same old bunch of panelist pundits on the cable shows, which are mostly all male and mostly all white. Cooper, Dobbs, Matthews, Gregory, Abrams, Olberman, Smith, O'Reilly, Hannity, Colmes...helllllooooo networks, don't you know any women besides Campbell Brown and Greta VanSustren who can lead an evening show? BUT, Hillary is being deceitful when she says the media statements are sexist. They're just speaking the truth about the delegate count, and how she is LOSING, and she can't handle the truth.
Once again, I'm calling for an intervention. She has lost this campaign and she is acting like a rotten spoiler. Many people predicted that she viewed this campaign as a coronation, but few of us thought we'd see her acting in such an unbecoming manner. No matter what she says now, she's lying about her campaign being about how much she cares about US. She cares about herself and her own ambitions. In a year when defeating Republicans should be a no-brainer, Hillary is going to turn this primary into the 2000 general, and people are going to seriously question whether Democrats can run this country or not.

¦and in their desire to have their truth be the truth it became impossible for them to see the truth.

Fact: Hillary Clinton has a long record in positions connected to or directly involved in public service. A great deal of that record is no more applicable to her readiness on "Day One" than Barack Obama"s record as a lawyer or a lecturer at UofC or as a community organizer. Throw that portion of the record out and you are left with her time spent as a NY senator and his as an IL state senator and congressional senator.

Fact: At the time when George Bush was taking the country to illegal war the split screen view of the candidates is most stark in its contrasting image of judgment and courage. Mrs. Clinton"s portrait is that of political expedience through principle compromise whereas Mr. Obama"s is that of principled dissent in the face of national apathy and determined partisan bloodlust/war mongering.

Fact: Hillary Clinton was head and shoulders above the rest of the field when the primary season began. Her willingness to betray morality, principle, and dignity for the paltry sum of the presidency of the United States has forever cast her in a bad light for those desirous of truth/courage in politics. She has been the assassin of her own campaign (not sexism) and no external source is to blame. Barack Obama has affirmed through behavior what Clinton has disavowed through behavior "high principle and sound judgment.

Is Obama whining about racism?

Hillary only has herself and her campaign advisors to blame for her loss. Penn and McAuliffe are hacks and losers and they gave her terrible campaign advice. I question her judgement in going along with their Rovian tactics. And Bill Clinton really turned me off with his antics as well.

read Bob Somerby at dailyhowler.com

To quote Joan Rivers, Can we talk? Readers, whatever one may think about Campaign 08, everyone knows that Candidate Clinton has been hit by large chunks of misogyny. Whichever candidate you might prefer, that fact is just dead-dog obvious. On just one cable "news" channel alone, major press figures fell like flies, forced to apologize (Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann) or actually kicked off the air (David Shuster) for their rude, inappropriate conduct. (This doesn"t count Tucker Carlson and "boy toy" Willie Geist, chuckling at the way they "involuntarily cross their legs" whenever they hear Clinton speak.) Everyone knows that this has occurred

Sexism has played much less of a part in this campaign than racism has. Heres an article that says it all. http://abcnews.go.com/PollingUnit/Politics/story?id=4896202&page=1

For starters, the media before super tuesday gave hillary 5 positive reports to obama's 1. After super tuesday that shrunk to 2 positve reports for hillary to obama's 1. I dont know how this changed after reverend wright happened, but hillary definitely got much better coverage than obama during that time (she also won PA and texas in that period). This shows that the media has had less of a sexist bias and more of a racist bias if at all. Also I personally have been reading the headlines every day of Fox news, ABC news, CNN and The New York times every day since the NH primary. Almost always if Hillary and Obama are in the same title, Hillary's name comes first. Look tonight, you will see the same thing.

Secondly lets look at demographics of voters. What are the types of people that are generally racist and/or sexist? Usually lower class, uneducated and older people. (The core of hillary's voting block). Those who are less sexist/racist tend to be younger, wealthier, and more educated. (the core of obama's voting block). Either way. It seems that the voters who tend to be more sexist/racist seem to care less that hillary is a woman and more that obama is black.

And just looking at polls you will see that the sexism and racism have hurt obama more and hillary less, or you could say, benefited hillary more and obama less.
If you analyze polls then those who say that race is important to them, about 95% vote for Hillary, the majority of those who say sex is important to them also vote for Hillary. Yes, those who care about sex vote for Hillary. The majority of those who say they dont care, ie those who would like to think sex and race didnt influence their decision vote for obama.
Women vote about 55% for hillary 45% for obama. Blacks vote 90% for obama and 10% for hillary. I dont know the exact numbers, but I can confidently say that 10% more female votes is way more than having 80% more african american votes.
You can argue all the want that hillary's downfall was sexism, but there are no facts to support it. You might say oh this tshirt, or that thing, but there are also racist tshirts, and

Are we all ready to admit the real sexism here is coming from the Clinton suppporters?!

MAYBE,..........MAYBE some Democrats are sexist, what? 1-2%??? and undoubtedly mostly from hrc's precious Southern, white worker base.
The people still onboard for hrc are cynical-one issue-yuppieswho can quit their job at any time and have a family......or play golf if they're past the family thing.
I have been an observer of the Women's Rights Movement since 1968, and I just can't believe that so many people are following Clinton's foolish anti-woman campaign....................They're all going to wake up in bed with mccain and moan about their miserable luck.

I took a year off once. I refer to it as the vacation that will cost me $15,000 a year for the rest of my life. I have no sympathy for women who take of a few years to raise a family, then wonder why they don't make as much as the men around them.

Women have also had "afirmative action" for my entire career. I think it is time they took the training wheels off.

In my judgement, Obama and Michelle listened to a preacher who was known to have ranted against Bill and Hillary in a racist - let's all hate white people way. They listened for 20 years and introduced their children to a racist and sexist pastor.

Their behavior has shown me the same racism and sexism. They cannot win over me. I will not be marketed a President by the boys club. I call for "Buyer's Remorse". Obama and his wife have proven to me during this campaign that they will not fight for me and what I imagine for this country. My dreams are not theirs. My values are different. I want a compassionate government that gives Health Care above anything else to its citizens at this time in history. We need the oil in the Middle East until we fashion an alternative and cannot just get out of the region. We cannot afford the inexperienced image conscious wealthy elites to sell us O as President. We cannot afford it!

I will reward the one woman in my lifetime who has shown to me her willingness to WORK for me to be a role model for MY values. Hillary is like Cherry Ames the Army Nurse. She will get us health care or die trying. That's my kind of gal!

NO.........she will not get your healthcare. She will cut the same deal any Democrat can get (ins. companies will be at the head of the line, skimming off 30% for the bosses/shareholders.
...........and YOU might want to reconsider before you post another BROAD SEXIST comment.

"I will not be marketed a President by the boys club."..

..look how easily you throw round SEXIST comments and think nothing of it...........are ALL the "boys" in the same "club"..........YOU are exactly the kind of bomb thrower that has kept this pathetic poorly run campaign from continuing it's natural cycle.

She botched healthcare the first time, and that is the main reason I did not support her. But rather than win me over, she showed me she is worse than I imagined, she praised McCain, she lied about snipers in Bosnia. Worst of all, she lies to her supporters about her chances, acting like she is winning when she lost months ago. I'm sure many low information voters will think her nomination was stolen, and that will hurt the Democratic party. If she campains tirelessly for Obama, she may convince me otherwise, but I think she is willing to destroy the Democratic party to persue her own ambition. If that means McCain, 100 years of war, depression, and a right wing supreme court with no respect for women's rights, she's OK with that.

No whole state writes Hillary off because she is a woman. States like WV and Kentucky couldn't care less what Obama has to say, they won't VOTE for him Because he is Black. I know that People usually won't admit that but A lot of People ACTUALLY Admitted that in WV, How sad is That?

When it counts, in the General Election, they won't vote for a woman either.
