"NASCAR Fan Brian Williams To Broadcast "Nightly News" From Indy 500" That's a strange headline. That's like saying "Basketball fan, Barack Obama, planning to go bowling"

I love the Huffington Post, but I'm guessing not many readers or contributors watch auto racing. FYI, Indy car racing is not NASCAR (somehow I have a hard time visualizing Arianna spending most of a Sunday afternoon in front of the tube cheering for Dale Earnhardt Jr. with an open can of Busch)

Indy racing is the sport where there are actually a few female contenders (notably Danica Patrick, who finally won a race a few weeks ago). I suppose that makes it a more "liberal" version of NASCAR, though there are some other differences that are pretty major (open wheels, much more sophisticated cars, etc.)

How nice for Williams. When will he get back to reporting the NEWS??? The last time I watched him, he was in NOLA with Georgie. Georgie stated that he had read "3 Shakespeares" Williams, if he were a REAL reporter should have asked "Which 3 would they be?" Georgie would have had a hell of a time naming even one, I have no doubt. I stopped watching the "non-news" a while ago, and get the news from the internet. This country is in the mess it is in partially because there are no real reporters anymore. There are stenographers for the WH talking points. Wait until McCain's "medical records" are reported on. Want to bet they will be mostly blacked out, shown to very few loyal repubs.? If there is nothing to hide, why all the secrecy and time lag? Does he have an STD? Where is Vicki Iseman? Where are the TRUE unbiased reporters?

When do we get to see Kerrys military records of his fourteen weeks of service in Viet Nam? Clinton has yet to release his medical records. Most likely a cornucopia of STDs.
BTW, has Obama released his medical records?
I would like to know if his use of cocaine affected his health or mental state.

I ask only because snorting cocaine makes a persons ears stick out.

Do you know this from personal experience? Is that why Georgie's ears are so prominent, or does boozing also add to this?

Actually, NBC Nightly News is the highest rated news show on TV with about 8.5 million viewers. I don't watch it myself; I consider network and cable news, particularly cable, to be aimed mainly at people who find USA Today too intense.

I wonder if he will broadcast before or after his expensive Manhatten dinner and wine or before or after hsi trip to one fo his freind's expensive home in Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. I swear he is one of those phony right wing media types that pretends to be in touch with the people but is really a northeastern elitist.

The Indy 500 is not Nascar.
