The LA Times is reporting that Hillary Clinton is nearly $31 million in debt. The news comes off a release from her campaign Tuesday night that she has raised $22 million:

No wonder Sen. Hillary Clinton was so late filing her required campaign financial reports Tuesday night. Her political team didn't want the shocking news in it to overshadow her lopsided thumping of Sen. Barack Obama in Kentucky.

Now comes the morning after, pay-up time. Clinton's campaign debt has now soared to nearly $31 million, according to numbers crunched early this morning by The Times' campaign finance guru, Dan Morain.

I can't imagine anyone voting for Hillary after seeing the incompetence of her campaign. If she ran the country like she's running her campaign, we'd be longing for the days of the George W Bush administration.

Both McCain and Hillary Clinton have run terribly incompetent campaigns and Obama has won the majority of Democratic elected delegates with 3 states to go and has surplus cash. So who's the neophyte in this group? Who's the inexperienced one in this group? Who's the "roll the dice" candidate in this group?

Anyone who doesn't see that Obama is clearly the best choice for President has some reason for thinking that other than reason and objective points of view. Which is OK, but there's a lot of risk in a purely subjective thought.

True blue. If you want to get a glimpse into how a candidate will perform in the position he/she is vying for, look at how they run the campaign.

It's not what someone SAYS; it's what they DO. HRC has clearly demonstrated economic/fiscal incompetence in the execution of her campaign. Who does she owe $31 million? If it's fat cats, what is she trying to buy? If it's small donors, so much for her argument that she "fights" for the little guy. It's probably both.

So beware, HRC supporters: if you're a little guy, she's not putting her money where her mouth is. Don't focus on her words; ask yourself if her actions are lining up. And there is no better window into a candidate's actions than his/her campaign. Look at McCain's campaign. More than 100 lobbyists. That tells the story of McCain. Obama--flush with cash from small donors, no debt, and not beholden to anyone but his legions of regular people. A well-run, grassroots campaign.

HRC's actions tell the story, and the evidence is a mountain of debt. Make no mistake--the debt is being amassed because of hubris and blind ambition. Who is getting hurt because HRC won't admit what everyone else knows? Who is not being paid while she pursues what she believes she is owed?

Isn't this more of the same? How is this behavior different from what we've had in the past 8 years?

Hillary keeps running, whacking away at Obama and the Democratic Party Rules Committee. She will deficit finance this and, later, hold up the Obama Campaign and the Democratic Party to pay for it.

In exchange for the extortion money, she will go through the motions of "healing the Party", all the while positioning herself for a McCain victory and a run in 2012.

Why is the Democratic party indulging in Hillary's trip fantastic? She is squandering so much of money, that her naive supporters keep giving her, on this fool's errand. She has tried moving the goal post many times, and yet, she is not the front runner.

She's going well beyond the point where it is even worth Obama making an effort to assist her in retiring her debt. No fund raising letter is going to be able to raise $31 Million for a losing campaign especially after the level of frustration and division that has been driven into our party. It will simply be a waste of time and money to try to help her in eliminating her debt. What SHOULD be frightening about this is that if they did actually give Hillary the nomination it is very likely she would start the general election $40 to $50 million in debt.
