Great Photo Op' I hope MSM picks up on this.
I'm sure Chris Matthews & Keith Olbermann will get all glassy eyed over it.
Regardless of what the cynics say.
"A picture says a thousand words."
That is a great picture and obviously a great moment.
he looks just like jis grandfather!! he is a tan version of him. I thiught he he kinda looked like his dad, but when I sad this picture, he looks just like him. What a cute picture. It is amazing how they want to forget this part of him, that he is bi-racial and that he is one of every one of us !!
Obama is Anglo-American, White.
If a person who has one Black and one White parent can be considered Black, or African-American, then he can be equally considered White and Anglo-American.
Obams is a Whiteman!!!! Kentuckians, check it out. Hilary fooled you. Barak Obama IS WHITE!!!
Ya, just goes to show you how backwards the mainstream view on race is. I am a light skinned black guy with dreadlocks, my heritage is a potpourri of Blackfoot Native American, Cajun, German, African, French et. al., yet im "Black" by any measures and standards set out by our country (or "Other" if thats any improvement)
Who the hell cares what race he is.
OBAMA'S WHITE!!!! - HURRY, SOMEBODY TELL REV WRIGHT!!!!
What a beautiful picture of Obama and his grandpa. You can see the strong family resemblance.
Who's the black kid with Obama?
Considering he's from Hawaii it's probably not an African American, but an Islander.
Darnit, you didn't get my joke!
I got the joke :o)
And I must admit, the kid is adorable. . .
Wow! What a cute picture!
His grandpa helped raise them, and they were very close. This picture is lovely. They look so close and happy and so much alike. Obama needs to talk more about his grandpa.
This picture is so beautiful. You can tell that they adore each other. I wish Obama would talk more about their relationship because it seems that they were very close. Also, I totally agree that Obama looks like his grandpa now!!
I was just about to comment likewise. Now we know where he get his good looks. Looks just like his grandfather with a tan.
That's where he got those ears.
goodtomeetyou, LOL that's what I was getting ready to say. That is such a cute picture of them.....i
From newsmax.co
"The senator from Illinois has his own tales to live down as well. For example, during a speech in 2002 Obama gave us a heart-rending story of his grandfather's service in uniform during World War II.
"My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton's army," stated Obama.
"He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He fought in the name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain."
All this would be great if it weren't pure fiction. For starters, the Nazis destroyed the Treblinka death camp in 1943 after shooting the last prisoners, a group of Jewish girls.
Then there is the problem of the locations of Treblinka and Auschwitz. Both Nazi death camps were located inside Poland. Thus, no American troops ever entered the camps until years after the war was over.
Auschwitz was taken by the Soviet Union after the Nazis evacuated most of the prisoners. The retreating Nazis left those too weak or sick to walk behind. The 322nd Rifle Division of the Red Army liberated them on Jan. 27 1945.
So unless Obama's Grandfather was working for Joe Stalin, liberating Europe in a Soviet Army uniform, he was not likely to hear stories about Auschwitz or Treblinka from his fellow soldiers."
You do realize that during the war the russians and americans were on the same side right? them even met and talked in some cases
You are terrific..
And the Russians spoke English & the GIs spoke Russian so they could discuss in detail the horrors in Poland?
He did not say his grandfather was a part of freeing Auschwitz instead he said, "he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka". These fellow troops could be troops that were a part of the allied invasions as in USSR troops.
Good try wingnuts.

We don't recognize them as a valid nor reputable news source ....
So NO THANKS !
My grandfather (step grandfather really) help to liberate Auschwitz.
Wow. Why do you need to try to tear everything down?
He probably heard it from soviet soldiers! You do realize that Americans and Soviets had interactions back then, right? Because - last time I checked -
THEY WERE FIGHTING TOGETHER ON THE SAME SIDE.
Oh my jesus. What is WRONG with you, pup?
What incredible people he was born to. Can you imagine in the mid-west in the early 1960's being the grandfather to a black grandson. It was rare back then and just look at him. He is at the beach and he loves that boy, and that boy looks just like his grandpa.
Perhaps that is why he did not come to Kansas until February, 2008 as his family moved to Hawaii long before he was born. Barack was born in 1961 in Honolulu. It is my understanding from our local Kansas newspapers that his mother's family left Kansas many years before that and lived in Texas and Washington, where she attended high school and then moved to Hawaii.
I don't care who you are or where you come from, but seeing a picture of a kid having fun just warms the heart and brings a smile to your face.
I agree and he has not lost that wonderful smile!
