Billionaire investor Carl Icahn said Barack Obama would be a ``terrible'' U.S. president whose election would bring higher interest rates and a loss of international confidence in the dollar.

``I don't normally get involved in politics, but this time I am,'' Icahn told an investors conference in New York last night. ``I don't think Obama really understands economics.''

The Illinois senator is the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination. Obama has 1,962 delegates, according to an Associated Press tally, putting him 64 delegates shy of the 2,026 needed to clinch the nomination.

``I personally think he would be a terrible president,'' Icahn, 72, said. Obama would probably go on a ``huge spending spree'' that ``the country can't afford right now.''

Obama would be a terrible President????

Get real..... He could Not Possibly Do worse than what we got!

Obama already has shown publicly he can speak and that he has good Organizing skills with his campaign. He certainly has Not had any family wealth backing him or bailing him out of mismanagements.

Obama probably represents to Carl Icahn "a threat" to his continued staying a billionaire. That's how that usually goes.

For a Billionaire the man must not read about what is going on right now. Did he support Bush?

Two things:

1. Why won't he run for president?

2. He thinks Obama will spend like mad? Gee, we're $9 trillion in debt, of which $3+ of it was accumulated in the last 8 years. Will he be blamed for that too?

Bush IS a terrible president; that's a given. Obama couldn't conceivably do any worse.

"couldn't conceivably do any worse" - That's a great reason to pick a president.

Why would Karl Ikahn support anyone who will not let him rape the middle class?

Yes we know, he'd be just terrible. Because you'd have to pay 31 million in taxes instead of just 30 million. Oh boo hoo...

Yeah for YOU... and your billionaire buddies. Suck it up, Carl.

Warren Buffet has endorsed Obama. Game, set, match: Obama.

Buffet is the REAL DEAL: building and investing in successful businesses that generate plentiful profit. He's the richest man in the world and has earned every penny along the way.

Ichan isn't fit to carry Buffet's briefcase. Ichan is known for his hobby an activist shareholder who takes huge positions looking to force mergers and such to yield a fast buck and fatten his mattress a little more. Has he ever actually built a business the way Buffet has?

Thanks for sharing, Carl.

Buffet's endorsement is worth a bazillion anti-Obama whines from the likes of Icahn.

I did not read past the first page before typing my comment, but has any Obamabots called him racist yet. I would hate for the Obamabots to stop their trademark talk for anyone who doesn't like Obama. why quit when you're ahead?

Is that all you've got, pal?

Clue phone: The only one talking race right now is you.

Warren Buffet, THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD (who actually EARNED every penny of it) has endorsed Obama.

Other than all that, great point. ;-)

I guess I can see how one of the world's richest men would say that as they know Obama will make them pay additional taxes. Funny that he doesn't say the same about Clinton. Oh that's right, Clinton told Bill O'Reilly that it was good to have the rich and she wouldn't interfere with their wealth accumulation.

If I may correct one of your points... Obama will make him pay HIS FAIR SHARE of taxes.... which he, as well as every other billionaire out there, is not paying right now. If they just paid their percentage, there would be a lot more money in the treasury..... for Bush to empty out.... oh, there's no winning.

Thank you for the clarification.

Yes, Icahn, Obama WOULD be a terrible President for billionaires like you.

That's what us regular shmoes are hoping for. A President who works for the majority of Americans, not just the minority of billionaires with their oh so terrible problems, like you.

P.S.-Are you a card carrying member of Billionaires for Bush?

Vote GOP-We don't want change, dollars run things.
