UPDATE: Around 10PM ET, McCain rejected the endorsement of another right-wing pastor, Rod Parsley, "an Ohio preacher who has sharply criticized Islam and called the religion inherently violent."

"I believe there is no place for that kind of dialogue in America, and I believe that even though he endorsed me, and I didn't endorse him, the fact is that I repudiate such talk, and I reject his endorsement," McCain told the AP. ...

[Parsley] has described Islam as an "anti-Christ religion" and the Muslim prophet Muhammad as "the mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil," according to ABC News.

Hello All...Muslim here - I am reading so many of these posts and positively LIVID at how little people really know or endeavor to understand Islam.

I have 2 young sons...one is named Zakariya (zak a RAY ah) after the beloved Prophet Zachariah (pbuh) and the baby is named Issa (EE sah) after the mighty and noble prophet Jesus (pbuh).

Muslims around the world revere and love Jesus (pbuh) as we do ALL the Noble Prophets and fiercely guard their character and integrity, I dare say, more than any other faith. We believe that Almighty G-d did NOT send Prophets to mankind to establish new religions, but to reinforce ONE UNIFIED MESSAGE and bring humanity back to righteousness, equity and justice.

Referring to Jesus as one of the "NOBLE PROPHETS" makes Islam no more viable than Mormonism or Buddhism

I think all this increases the chances that Huckabee will be the VP choice, since McCain will now have to make nice to the fundies if he wants them to turn out for him in large numbers.

With McCain's health problems, the possibility of a President Huckabee is something to consider. Huckabee has already said he would accept the VP nomination if it were offered to him.

As more and more of McCain's real political life is revealed in the next few months, he may be left with no one at all to assist him in his single-mindled attempt to con the American people into thinking he's a straight-talking maverick with nothing but disdain for the way Washington operates. The founders did not (universally) see Islam as a

Funny Rod hates Islam so much so that he invite Ollie North to speak at his church calling him a Great American Hero... yes the same Ollie North who sold missles to Iran.
