Parsley

The Huffington Post:

UPDATE: Around 10PM ET, McCain rejected the endorsement of another right-wing pastor, Rod Parsley, "an Ohio preacher who has sharply criticized Islam and called the religion inherently violent."

[I]n an interview with The Associated Press, McCain said he rejected Parsley's support, too.

"I believe there is no place for that kind of dialogue in America, and I believe that even though he endorsed me, and I didn't endorse him, the fact is that I repudiate such talk, and I reject his endorsement," McCain told the AP. ...

[Parsley] has described Islam as an "anti-Christ religion" and the Muslim prophet Muhammad as "the mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil," according to ABC News.

Why can't Parsley, Hagee, and the other Rapturists-In-Waiting follow their zealous $$ to the Holy Land where they'll likely be well received. Good riddance.

Tolerance of anti islamic bigotry was a threat to American values. After 9/11 muslim bashing became all the rage, this is something history will not judge kindly. At least we did not round up all the muslims and put them in internment camps, but we allowed people like Michael Savage to air his hatred to millions each day. The hate mongering against Muslims has been extreme and if we took it half as serious as the hate against Jews we could have avoided the ugly episode. The other has certainly said awful things about Muslims.

Why is it acceptable to engage in anti muslim bigotry in America. We have freedom of religion in our constitution and Islam existed at the time of this nations founding. If there were muslims then and muslims now what has changed to make it acceptable to hate muslims. I am noticing a doulbe standard and it troubles me. In bigotry lies the seeds of atrocities and crimes against humanity. We need to end all of it not just the kind against people we like.

McCain got what he wanted - he needed these pastors to get legitimacy with the "base" in his nomination battle. Now he can break ties with them and try to look like the "maverick" he purports himself to be. Hopefully the media will come to the realization that this guy has never taken less than 2 positions on any issue - king of the flipfloppers!

As for you atheists out there, try not to be so condesending to "believers" - you don't know any more than anyone else. I have major problems with facets of organized religion but that doesn't inherantly make them wrong and you right. By dissing people who do believe you're no better than Hagee or Parsley. That's why it's called "tolerance".

Any more dispute that the separation of Church and State is a damn good idea?

I'm Christian. But the hatred and intolerance in this country toward Muslims is just ridiculous. Is it right to categorize an entire group of people because of the despicable behaviors of a few? Compare this theory to the evangelicals who bombed abortion clinics. Should we hate evangelicals too? Grow up America!

That is because you are a good Christians. Such Pastors do not represent Christianity. They only represent their own corporations.

Regardless which cult you subscribe to you get to have your own private imaginary friend in the sky, And if you're past 5 years old this really sets you back. After 3-5 generations of a progressive world-class education we should be able to nip the religiosity problem in the butt.

A basic roundup of those 02 clown preachers suggest the following:
1- You've got a fat clown, who preaches to people about Jesus, yet he can't
preach a diet and a fitness routine to himself.
2- The other clown applied himself to preach so much like a black man and he thinks that he
can speak to god in tongue.

But who is to blame, the clowns or the the stupid crowd who is mesmerized by the
clowns. this lithanie has been going on for eons. This is to prove that we deserve to have
an armagaedon, our species is not worthy. And we have seen nothing yet.
I am so glad that when them roaches are going to be swarming all over earth
with no food and a terrible heat. I will be a couple of feet under ground.

Clinton has taken Kentucky and Obama is right there in Oregon.
The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive – and most likely to be decided by superdelegates – as CNN points out clearly

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/20/primary.wrap/index.html

If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama

If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com

Obama Supporters:

Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It's that easy...

Clinton Supporters too …. !

It takes a moment, but what's a few minutes now worth to get Clinton in office?! Those are really worth !

Sending a note to current Clinton supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Obama supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Clinton, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Clinton. It's that easy...

wow one pastor hates the Jews one hates Islam way 2 go mccain

No, Hagee doesn't hate the Jews, he is just glad that Hitler "helped" to herd them to Zion, so he thinks of Der Fuhrer as God's shepherd. He does, however, seem to hate the Catholics, having called the Church and/or the Pope a "great whore".

I figure an even larger demographic group hated by McCain himself is women, since he called his own wife a trollop and a c@&t when she teased him about his thinning hair. Cindy McCain herself must be a real Lady MacBeth, since she takes such crap from him; guess she figures her beer distribution fortune can grow that much more if he gets elected president.

Okay, is it just me, or do the few things we heard out of Rev. Wright look like a joke in comparison to the crap that's been spouted between these two?

Aside from the outrageous remark he made about 9/11, he said what, the government created AIDS? Italians have garlic noses? Oh lord, if there's any group of people who don't deserve to be victim to the preaching of an angry pastor its the federal government! The same government who was condoning the beating and killing of black people not a half century ago and giving Wright plenty reason to rant -- and that man's going to hell just for "garlic noses!"

Parsley and Hagee have spewed trash about Hitler being a blessing from God to slaughter and execute jews in the millions? America was founded for the sole purpose of destroying an entire faith and murdering its followers around the world? Hurricane Katrina and other storms being devices of God to punish America for its tolerance of gay sin? That's just twisted.

McCains "REAL" Pastor (Don Yeary) is sympathetic to Rev. Wright:

Yeary was sympathetic as a fellow pastor and said while he did not agree with Wright's comments, all preachers eventually got caught in the trap of their own exuberance.

"All preachers have a tendency to overstate because our passion is so intense. But I thought Obama did a fine job in response. He preserved his friendship with his pastor while disagreeing with him," Yeary said.
