Election Central:

In a move that could foreshadow a public push from the Hillary forces to get Barack Obama to invite her on the ticket, Hillary's top campaign fundraising official said in an interview that there's a "risk" that Hillary's political and financial supporters won't get behind Obama in time for him to win in November if she's passed over for the veep slot.

The fundraiser, businessman Hassan Nemazee, is Hillary's leading finance chair and one of the most influential money men in the party. He's the first prominent Hillary campaign official to raise the possibility of an Obama loss should she not be invited on the ticket, and his comments suggests that this argument could emerge as central to any Clinton camp push to make her veep.

Clinton has taken Kentucky and Obama is right there in Oregon.
The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive – and most likely to be decided by superdelegates – as CNN points out clearly

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/20/primary.wrap/index.html

If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama

If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com

Obama Supporters:

Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It's that easy...

Clinton Supporters too …. !

It takes a moment, but what's a few minutes now worth to get Clinton in office?! Those are really worth !

Sending a note to current Clinton supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Obama supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Clinton, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Clinton. It's that easy...

Hillary Clinton and her Fundraisers are of no consequence to us.
Not this time.
This is OUR campaign.

How convenient of her to provide a solution to the problem that she has worked so hard to create.

She has to be the most self-important person in the most self-important city in the world.
12:15 PM on 05/24/2008
You know I'd rather see him lose then win with her on the ticket. I respect Obama and would love to see him as our president, but if he does accept her for VP I'm not sure I could hold my nose and pull the lever. If she does "force" her way onto the ticket, one thing I am SURE of. I will NOT vote for President and VP and go republican down ticket. A party that would allow that to happen, doesn't deserve to win.
11:41 AM on 05/24/2008
Not a chance. She's not going to be VP, her comments have assured that this will never happen. AA's will stay home in fear of a vote for them will ensure his death.

With all due respect (which is none), no one needs friends like these.

I have had it with the veiled threats from Hillary backers, loyalists, shrieking psycho supporters. Obama would demonstrate a degree of foolishness he hasn't shown EVER in putting someone with such high negatives on his ticket. And even if such a ticket was put together and Obama won, how long before one of those psycho supporters really did decide to shoot him down so that Hillary could step into the slot she didn't earn?

Hillary's fundraisers, however, will spin this to the tired and old broken end because without her in the White House, they can't begin to recoup their investment in her. Cynical? Maybe, or maybe just Realistic. not.gonna.happen.

I'd be willing to bet hard cold cash that Hillary isn't even on the list of potential running mates.

The only way Obama could lose is if Hillary is on the ticket.
Hillary has extremely high negatives amongst Democrats and would bring out republicans in droves if she were on the ticket.
Hillary has shown herself, by her own actions, to be under corporate control and to have poor judgment.
Hillary has been acting like a spoiled child and doesn't deserve to be on any ticket.I would get her out of the Senate if she were my representative.
America NEEDS leaders who are not controlled by big money interests or their own egos and who truly represent Progressive ideas, the Constitution, Individual Freedom and the rule of law.
Since Reagan Presidents have been destroying Freedom and the prosperity of Individual Americans while only representing the interests of the very rich. ENOUGH!!!!

I sure hope Obama doesn't put her on the ticket. she would wreck any chance he has to win by making him look weak, his message just one of convenience, and provide the repubs with two targets instead of one. Further, the repubs would just play her attacks against him in commercials. she is toast anyway. she can't win reelection in NY. I know too many NYers who won't vote for her. Wait till the repubs play the "... hard working, white Americans, ..." clip in NYC. her political career is over. No more victimhood for the fraud in the pantsuit.

Thank you for being outraged by her race baiting. I feel those comments are more detestable than her current statement.

After cruising the Internet, checking out what the Hillary supporters think about this latest "gaffe" I have come to the conclusion that there are millions of Hillarys out there that do not care about anything except getting her on the ticket even to the detriment of the Democratic Party and our chances in November. They are talking about going to Denver and causing trouble at the Convention if Obama "steals" this nomination from Hillary.

Hillary was right about one thing, it IS 1968 all over again, only this time it is all Hillary's fault.

No Clintons 08

I don't think there are millions. Another blog featured a study comparing posts a favorite hillary site to posts at Kos. It found that the HRC site had very few distinctive posters, and the the vast majority of articles and responses were written by the very few.
Regular visits to blogs at the official HRC and BHO sites reflect the same lack of breadth (and depth) among Hillary supporters.
I hope that makes sense and sorry I don't have a link.

Just sent this to howarddean@dnc.org

Dear Governor Dean -

Hillary Clinton has just done more to put Barack Obama at risk of an assasin's bullet than all the wackos on the web.

Everybody knows that when you broadcast a lethal idea like this, it works its way into the brains of the unstable.

And everybody who follows the race knows that Barack already has a much tighter Secret Service detail than either Hillary or McCain.

While I certainly won't impugn hateful motives to her, she could not poasibly have said anything more irresponsible - and potentially more harmful. Surely she owes Barack and his family and honest and forthright apology - and it is past time for her to stop her destructive, divisive campaign.

As chairman of the DNC, you must speak out courageously - and all the supers must make their feelings known by declaring their commitment now - to force her out of the race.

Sincerely,
01:28 AM on 05/24/2008
Howard Dean is not the right person...He must remain impartial.
I will say that there is only one way to stop this, write your representatives, either republican or democrat.
She will not stop until she is destroyed and driven from the party. She has already galvanized her supporters so do not try to reason with them.

Please send an Email to your representatives:

Sirs,

I had hopes that I had finally found someone who would be a voice for me, Senator Obama. I am saddened to find that the hope I once had is slowly slipping away.
I had hoped that the democratic party would stand up to Senator Clinton after her race baiting comments "Hard working Americans, White Americans", but to my disappointment that is not the case.

My pledge to you:

I will not vote for her.
I will not vote for Obama/HRC...
I will donate to any campaign that apposes Hillary Clinton...in any elected office
I will donate to campaigns either Republican or Democrat that appose people who are her supporters.

My disgust in the Democratic Party has helped me find my own voice. That voice will be against you and all those that stand with her.
08:57 AM on 05/24/2008
To the contrary. SHE has not galvanized her supporters to not support him. HIS SUPPORTERS have galvanized her supporters not to support him. As for her latest "gaffe". I would be willing to bet dollars to donuts that 80% of Obama's supporters on this site were not even alive when RFK was assassinated. I, and many, many of her supporters were very much alive and remember extremely well, that horrific day. She, as did many of the rest of us, adored the Kennedy family. ALL of them. To even suggest that she would make the comparison in the hope that someone would gun down Obama is just beyond the stretch of any and all imaginations...no matter how delusional one might be. You Obama supporters have truly lost your ever-loving minds. Truly pathetic. I never thought I would see Dems treat members of their own party in such a despicable manner.

Obama's succeeded in Dividing this Country. His campaign and his supporters have labeled anyone
who is not for Obama a racist. They've labled anyone who is for Clinton as uneducated or appalachian. This type of behavior only alienates people.
12:03 AM on 05/24/2008
"His campaign and his supporters have labeled anyone who is not for Obama a racist."

Honestly, it is beyond me how you guys can even come up with this stuff.

Really.

Just take a moment, read through any one of the threads mentioning her, and count how many times her supporters are called racists. I guess you haven't been paying attention.

Yeah and if the Obama faction continues alienating everyone but their increasingly narrow core of true believers, all of America will be victims of another Republican administration.

Well, if Hillary supporters want to withhold support from the Democratic nominee, thereby increasing the chances of winning for a Republican who would work against causes important to her, including Roe v. Wade, equality for women and ending our involvement in Iraq...

Well, hey, I can't think of a better tribute to her!
