Pelosi Women

Bloomberg:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said women won't suffer a "step back" if Democrat Hillary Clinton loses her presidential bid, and rejected the idea of sexism in the presidential campaign.

Clinton, 60, a New York senator, is "bigger than all of it"' and has shown "courage," Pelosi, a California Democrat, said in an interview with Judy Woodruff broadcast on the PBS NewsHour last night.

Clinton has taken Kentucky and Obama is right there in Oregon.
The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive – and most likely to be decided by superdelegates – as CNN points out clearly

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/20/primary.wrap/index.html

If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama

If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com

Obama Supporters:

Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It's that easy...

Clinton Supporters too …. !

It takes a moment, but what's a few minutes now worth to get Clinton in office?! Those are really worth !

Sending a note to current Clinton supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Obama supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Clinton, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Clinton. It's that easy...

Nancy, and just what did you think was the reason the voters returned the House to the Democratic majority? Answer: To put a lid on the Bush/Cheney crimes - all of them. And what did you do? Absolutely N-O-T-H-I-N-G .

Old saying - you're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem. You and Hillary are the latter. You are a disgrace as the first woman Speaker of the House.

Hillary is no example to me and as a woman, I detest all that she has done throughtout this campaign - she is horrific and I can't wait until she is no longer a issue - she has embarassed and put the women back for another 20 years -

i like Pelosi i wish she we're running against Obama, i'm sure it would've been way more civilized and if she didn't win he would put her (Pelosi) on the ticket because she's a real woman.

This traitor protected Bush from impeachment, from the rule of law. Yes she was always very polite about it, same way she was when she funded the murder in Iraq on four separate occasions.

Protecting bloody killers like Bush is not CIVILIZED behavior, Truthfighter1.

Pelosi, how can you not see the extreme bias against Clinton BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN? It has been there since day 1. The boys club would rather have an ex-drug addict, drunk, lying, thieving murdering male as a candidate than a woman. Oh wait, they already had that in Bush. Women of this land should be upset, very very very upset at the way Clinton has been unfairly treated, and is trying to be pushed aside even as we speak. They are more Democratic voters that think she is a better candidate than Obama, and most of them are women. I suggest you wake and spell the bias brewing.

Your reply is a nearly insane rant. I never voted for Reagan, Bush I, or Bush II and in hindsight
and foresight felt my judgment was vindicated. Hillary has actually been handled rather gingerly
by the media. She has never suffered from anything comparable to the Reverend Wright piling
on. You're not an invertebrate, use a little spine, and stop your sniveling.

How do you know that there are MORE democratic, women voters who think Hillary is a better candidate? All the women I associate with are supporting Obama. But I will never say that there are MORE democratic (or independent) women voters who think Obama is a better candidate. You are just making a statement and like the candidate you are supporting, you seem to be mathematically challenged as well.

the real irony of clinton's sad and embarassing campaign tactics is that, had she chosen to concede to the wishes of the voters in 48 states with a gracious exit, hillary would have left the doors wide open for future female presidential candidates ---

however, her long and well-documented list of managerial failures and blunders, especially the whole geraldine (first woman ever to run for vp) ferraro fiasco, will only reinforce (rightly or wrongly) every stereotype, reservation or prejudice any man (or woman) ever had about choosing a woman to occupy the oval office ...

Pelosi, like most dems in washington, are impotent against bush and cheney. Two obvious murderous criminals that have led this country into the pain it has to climb out of now, and they do nothing. They are a disgrace. This country totally needs more than these two pitiful parties.

They tried everything except they have the power of the purse and could cut funding this nightmare that is called the Iraq War which of course is the greatest business move in the history of the USA. this war is ripping every citizen from their money. This country never cease to amaze me, when the ignorants of this country will learn the lesson which is to bring this currupt government. If you think Obama will do it by himself you are mistaken.

Hillary Clinton has set women back 50 years. She has been disgraceful and granted a pass just because she's a woman. Well, this 63 year old woman has had it with her and request that you put your vote up for Senator Obama asap, please. The democratic party is sinking.

I believe you, Nance - just like I believed that once the Dems took power in 2006 we would be out of Iraq in a flash.

Oh Please. The dems tried everything. They don't have enough votes to override a veto. Blame the lock step nazi republicans for nothing getting done. It will e different in 2008. Those of you who speak badly of Nancy have no idea what a smart cookie she is. She is picking her fights and when we have a majority in the house and senate things will be different.

They took impeachment off the table and last time I checked, they still control the budget. Tried everything?

Nancy women suffered a setback when you became Speaker of the House after you it may be 100 years before another women rises as high..!

You eviscerated and betrayed the Constitution and betrayed America not allowing even an Impeachment hearing or investigation which will lead to a war with Iran which will be the end of America's greatness..

Between you and Condi Rice it'll be a miracle if any other women ever rises so high and Diane Feinstein is doin a great job of wrecking things and trust for women especially Democratic women in America..as well..

At least we all know what Republican women really are but to see what Democratic women have become and what you've done it's just disgusting and worse as it's pure betrayal of us all every good trusting American..!

This is an interesting phenomenon which I find interesting as a casual observer. Instead of respecting the views of all women, so-called women's rights advocates have decided that only women who share their views are worthy of respect, while those women who don't share their views are dismissed as hypocrites, traitors, or worse.

I think there will be a woman in the office of the Presidency sooner than you may think. I think people are smart enough to know that Pelosi and Hillary are not the end all and be all. Actually, I do rather like Nancy Pelosi. It is true that Condi Rice has been ineffectual as Secretary of State, but I still don't think the American public will not accept a woman running for the presidency, as long as she is not mentally ill and a classic narcissist like someone else I couild name (but won't).

I beg to differ. She is one smart cookie. Don;t you think for a moment that all those Men would have voted for her for Speaker if they didn't believe she was up to the job. This woman has been a lifelong public servant and so was her father. She's a great democrat and a great liberal.

No, the big setback for women was when Hillary cried "sexism." She is a bad sport and I'm embarrassed that the first woman to get this close to a nomination has lied and cheated to get there. The only thing she has done FOR women is to map out a "what not to do list" for gaining respect and confidence among the American people. Real feminists vote for the best candidate, not for a woman right or wrong. Hillary is all wrong.

Nancy Pelosi, please get a spine and tell voters that you're for Obama! After Hillary has insinutated that Obama might be assassinated this June NOW IS THE TIME TO SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Hillary Clinton is indeed a MONSTER and she needs to go now! And don't even put her on a VP list!

On the contrary, I expect women to run for president on both sides of the isle from now on. And the good news is that they will seem like saints when compared to the viciousness of Hillary Clinton. We do need a woman president (after Obama finishes his two terms), just not THAT woman. Washington state has two outstanding female senators (Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell) both of which would make a better and more admirable president that HRC.

We need a woman who is not like Hillary to restore the image of women in politics.

I've been thinking Kathleen Sibelius who was short-listed early on would be a good choice for VP for just that reason - in addition to the many valid reasons she was short-listed in the first place.

If she's qualified - and not a power seeker I have no problem with it . As for now, the next 8 years belong to Obama.
