Bloomberg:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said women won't suffer a "step back" if Democrat Hillary Clinton loses her presidential bid, and rejected the idea of sexism in the presidential campaign.

Clinton, 60, a New York senator, is "bigger than all of it"' and has shown "courage," Pelosi, a California Democrat, said in an interview with Judy Woodruff broadcast on the PBS NewsHour last night.

No, Mrs. Pelosi, women have suffered by your inability to do your job.

We the voters did not give her the tools to do her job the way we would like.

We gave her a majority of 1 in the House and Senate. We needed to give her a veto-proof majority.

After January, we'll see.

As an elderly white female and one of extreme independant thinking during my life time, I don't feel it's a strike at women to vote against Hillary. To me she is not a great example of female leadership. I am voting for the person....not the race or gender. I believe everyone in the world should vote this way.

We are going to have to work twice as hard to regain what she has cost us. her childish behavior defies female logic.

I just got back from the service station. The conversation at the pump should have been about high gas prices instead it was, see I told you "a woman and the word, scorn.

As a long time over 60 feminist who did my share of paving the way for those who followed, I must say, I do not think Sen. Clinton is a good role model. To get ahead in the "man's world". You do not cry. You do not say things like they like you better than me. You do not make up stories (ie sniper fire) to make yourself sound as if you had the same war experiences they did. You never in any way indicate you think you are being picked on (even if you are). You follow the rules. Those are just a few things and I could go on, but perhaps the most important no, no is you never, ever play the gender card.

Thank you. We must be from the same generation. I find Hillary's desperate campaign tactics appalling and embarrasssing to women.

YOU REALLY MUST GO BACK AND CHANGE THE POLITICS HOME PAGE HEADLINE TICKLER FOR THIS ARTICLE.
I was shocked because I saw Pelosi's interview with Judy Woodruff last night and thought, "WHAT?" I have no idea how many of your readers won't click to the whole article, instead taking in the headline and continue scrolling. I suspect that if you want Nancy Pelosi to be kind to Huff Post, you want to take care not to to misquote her so wrongly. Saying it's an editing faux pas is stuff for lesser organizations.

Nancy, said Woman "Won't" suffer a setback, not that they will, please get the facts straight, and by the way, Nancy is right. I don't agree with her all the time, especially with the whole, we won't impeach Bush crap, that wasn't her call to make. However, Hillary is the only saying that women will suffer a setback, sorry Hill, nice try, but your not the all knowing, all being woman of the year! Now Golda Meier would have made a good President, and she did. Your not even in the same league dear!

MODERATORS FIX THIS INACCURATE HEADLINE PLEASE

Speaker Pelosi is showing leadership now. Her words are a healing balm.

Please, party leaders, please, help us with the sexism and racism and the phony charges too. This is your job, now.

HuffPo, please revise your headline. She said exactly the opposite of your headline.

My ex, who knew Hillary, and my daughter, who is not dumb, both think Hil is a bad example for women.

She cheats, she lies, and she stays married to a man we all know was capable of, and did commit, rape.

Women can (and have done) so many amazing things not just in the US political scene, but around the world.

What really irks me is women who believe that Hillary Clinton losing is as if it's the last great woman hope....and that there won't be another woman candidate. Or as if there are no other women candidates. You actually disrespect all other women who have worked hard to get where they are even though they might not have the noteriaty of Hillary!

Besides which, any woman can easily be President. I believe that THIS particular woman (Clinton) should not. She has shown some good, but more ugly side - of her personality which makes you question where her real goals lie. With the country or for herself. And I believe they are for herself.

Name me the last viable woman candidate for the Presidency? Name me one woman who is even being talked about as a possible future viable candidate for president? It's been 24 years since we even had a woman as VP candidate. HRC, was aided by her last name and even as a HRC supporter I know and understand that she wouldn't had been considered a viable candidate without the Clinton last name. I'm not stating these facts, because I feel she should win or people should vote for her because she is a female, I'm just pointing out that there is a reason why. And if you don't want to have an intelligent conversation on it, then don't bother posting about it.

So you're telling me that you don't envision in the next 10 years any woman being capable of at least a viable candidate for President? Now who's being naive.

The status quo has to change. And will.

Clinton got this far in part because of her name, but because of the quality of work she has done. I - as an Obama supporter - have never questioned her track record of experience. I DO however question a populist message (ie gas tax relief) when it's clearly pandering. I DO however question a woman who continues to belittle her opponent as her only means to get ahead!

So please spare me your rhetoric about Clinton only getting a fair shake because she's a woman. She's given and taken away from women all over congress.

How about including "Won't" in that headline?

Well, the leadership has spoken..................................It's about time. I might add, that I liked Hillary before she took her bid to another level. I just sit and shake my head. But on a serious note, I think she has exhibited some bizarre behavoir. I will pray for her. She needs to find peace within herself.
