UPDATE: Obama has picked up another superdelegate from Oregon.

Barack Obama has picked up a series of superdelegates this morning, one of which at the expense of Sen. Clinton.

Today, two California superdelegates endorsed Obama, Reps. Jim Costa and Dennis Cardoza. Cadoza has previously endorsed Hillary Clinton.

In addition, two of John Edwards' New Hampshire delegates, who have since been designated as unpledged delegates, endorsed Obama.

Cardoza:

"This is the most important election of my lifetime. While I continue to greatly respect and admire Senator Clinton and feel she has made history with her campaign, I believe that Senator Obama will inevitably be our party's nominee for President. He has proven himself to be a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and inspirational leader and will take America in a new direction, which we desperately need."

Costa:

"In my conversations with Senator Obama, I explained to him that our San Joaquin Valley is the number one agricultural region in the country and in the world. Before the election in November, he needs to come to our Valley and understand the water challenges we face, the diversity of our farm crops, and the combination of the wonderful ethnic communities that make up Valley families, which is truly a reflection of our nation."

Have you looked at the map? And you are so sure he can do it without voters who value equality?

Kerry thought the same thing. Good luck with that.

From Blacks4Barack !
Demand To DNC: Kick Hillary Out NOW !
Insinuates That Obama Could Be ASSASSINATED !

Now, things have gone way too far. Yesterday, in an appearance in South Dakota, Hillary Clinton justified her reason for staying in the campaign by referring to the fact that presidential hopeful 'Robert Kennedy was assasinated in June'...implying that the same could occur to senator Obama. THIS IS SICK !!! Regardless of how the pundits try to spin this as just another misspeak, the statement speaks for itself and displays the diobolical mentality of Hillary Clinton.

It is unclear as to whether she is actually hoping that Obama would be killed, therefore giving her an open path to the Democratic nomination, or if she may be signaling her desire to some sick, warp minded homicidal maniac. Whichever be the case, her statement is automatic grounds for the Democratic National Committee headed by Howard Dean to demand that she remove herself from the race. If he does not, American Democrats should demand HIS stepping down !

This can not be tolerated. ANYONE who would wish the death of another human being in order to win a political position is sick, dangerous, maniacal, deranged and totally unfit for any political position, particularly President .

CONTACT THE DNC....
HILLARY MUST BE EXPELLED NOW !!!!
FLOOD THE PHONE LINES...CALL THE DNC TODAY !!!

CALL DNC: 202-863-8000
HILLARY MUST BE KICKED OUT NOW !!!!
SEND THIS EVERYWHERE !!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I think the fact that she "misspoke" proves the opposite. If she was hoping for something to happen to Obama, she would never, ever have mentioned it. How could she get the nomination let alone the presidency now if something does happen? No way. While she would have been a shoo-in if, in that same situation, she had shut up.

I'm not saying this to defend her. I've long wondered what miracle she was hoping for, and darkly feared that she was hoping for Obama to meet Bobby Kennedy's fate. But her words actually put those fears to rest: she can't possible be hoping for that.

Still, I agree that her misstatement increased the danger to Obama and she owes a lot more than an apology for that - she owes ending her sabotage attempts.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:34 PM on 05/25/2008

She does hope for a miracle and Obama getting out of the way would be a dream come true. Her words had a very hateful connotation that give me an even more bad feeling about her. I never thought she should run for president with the baggage she and Bill both have. We need to look to the future and I'm happy we have Obama to take on the problems that face America.

No one should underestimate the Clinton's and their

back door dealing. Hillary is staying in to recoup debt,
getting paid to stay in the race by the power that be,
or waiting of something to happen to Obama,

I think the super delegates are playing this right for a change. they are taking away MRS Clinton's argument about disenfranchising the states that have yet to vote. and since the primaries should be over in about a week it is a good strategy.

Senator Obama has played her very well in not openly confronting her for she would then really appear the victim. for those who believe him wimpy wait until he takes on McCain who won't be whining, complaining and tearing up (hopefully) when confronted.

It's always amazing how opponents of Obama always use other people's words ( sometimes out of context ) - like those of Michelle or Wright - to detract from what Obama himself is doing. Regardless of how you may feel about those comments, those aren't HIS comments.

Whereas we need to look no further than Hillary's or McCain's own words to see that they have serious issues.

Her supporters will follow her, ESPECIALLY now as they will point out how unfairly she's being treated.

But honestly? I'm not going to worry about this. hings are happening in the background that we don't know and they will not disregard people's voices - EVEN in the caucus states!! *gasp*

As "vocal" as some of Hillary's supporters are, more of them are quietly but definitely shifting over to support Obama, as witnessed by yet another superdelegate 'defecting' to his side.

Some White House Emails Disappeared After Gonzales Told of CIA Leak Probe
The Public Record

At 8 PM on September 29, 2003, former White House counsel Alberto Gonzales received a phone call from the Department of Justice (DOJ). Gonzales received formal notification that evening that the DOJ had launched a criminal investigation into the leak of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson.

Curiously, the Justice Department, which at the time was headed by John Ashcroft, officially launched the investigation on September 26, 2003, but Ashcroft waited more than three days before notifying Gonzales and the White House, whose high-level staffers were reported to be responsible for disseminating Wilson’s affiliation with the spy agency to the media just two-and-a-half months earlier.

Gonzales asked the DOJ if he could wait until morning before notifying White House staffers about the probe, thereby delaying the issuance of a directive to preserve emails and other documents related to the leak of Wilson’s undercover status federal investigators would need as part of their investigation.

The DOJ agreed.

If these superdelegates who hold public offices and who refuse to endorse even now, think they are going to be reelected to those offices, they are deluding themselves. They are as much toast as Hillary---for they have the power to put an end to this, and haven't done so. Any damage done to the party through this dragging out of a nominee contest, can be laid at their feet as well as Hillary's. And this applies to the party leaders as well, who seem to like to play the fiddle while Rome burns.

Good idea.

I think, this would have worked better a few weeks ago, though. Now, there's only one week left before the long-awaited FL-MI meeting.

One thing this election cycle has taught me is that we all need to be more involved in party politics. We need to understand this party system and participate in it.

The first thing we need to do is hold superdelegates who continue to drag this out accountable for their behavior. They are putting their personal interests ahead of their constituency. They think they will keep or improve their high and mighty positions by waiting to make sure they back the winner.

We might decide to keep the superdelegate system, but probably not with the current crop of superdelegates. Let's take the party over and reform it.

I know a parrot when I hear one. This is something Bill Clinton said a week or two ago. However, the system was good enough for him when he was running for president.

If your president Dubya had a brain . . . a complete and utter fraud.

Personally, although I find caucuses a really engaging idea, I don't find them a very good way to determine such an outcome.

But all of this is moot. Bill had no problems with them in 1992 or 1996 and no one objected to them, when they were setting the rules up this year. The only objects, as with FL and MI has come, when the Clintons did not get their desired outcome.

Then, it was "let's rewrite the rules" time.

I don't understand the prejudice against caucuses. I took the trouble to go to mine, spend two hours with people who had sympathetic politics, and was selected as a delegate to the county, where I spent the day with fellow Dems deciding on our nominee. How does that make me less important, less respectable, than someone who stood in line for an hour to vote? There were no crossover voters at the caucus. Did I just answer my own question?

So you believe the winner-take all system is a fair and democratic system? A system in which non of the votes cast for the loser in a state count, a system in which only large swing states are of importance, a system that has given the presidency to the loser of the popular vote several times in our history (including 2000) due to the distorting effects of not counting the losing votes? This, then, the a fair and democratic system upon which to model the democratic primaties?

Clinton could have done for the issue of sexism what Obama did for racism in his Phila. speech. It is time for Americans to adopt a new way of talking about both of these issues and past time for the likes of Clinton and her rabid female supporters to stop carrying on like we were still in the 60s. I am a white woman of 60+ who cringes when I hear the noble cause for equal rights being reduced to such nonsense.

Your right on the 60's comment.Women won their rights years AGO,we can't afford to move backwards in history .Most of the womens 'groups' PAC'S ,who are backing the sexism issue are younger ,bitter men haters who to get their names in the limelight will say anything , some of these groups have no idea of how hard it was for those of us that DID suffer from sexsim in the 50's ,60's and late 70's..Hillary uses these womens discontent and anger to further HER political career.

Joanno, I appreciate your thoughtful comment on this. I am a white woman who is almost 60 and this is not what I fought so hard for 40 years ago. Hillary must take responsibility for the problems in her campaign (cough, cough, Mark Penn) and not conveniently blame the outcome on sexism.

And she must accept responsibility for choosing Penn in the first place and failing to deal with him after it became clear that he was a detriment to her campaign. Of course, that presupposes that she did realize it...

You are so right. We cannot be strong women and them claim we are a victim. Can you even imagine Margaret Thatcher or Golda Mier claiming they were being picked on because they were women? NO WAY, becuase they were strong women. They could "take the heat and stay in the kitchen" without throwing a tantrum and whining. Geraldin and Hillary are not the feminist leaders that our daughters need to imulate. She has not done her our the rest of us proud. What a shame threw this opportunity away and to be so selfish. No self sacrifice on her part for the good of the cause or the country. I truly sad situation. I feel like she has punched me in the gut.

It so painfully clear that Senator Clinton has severely damaged the women's movement in the United States. When the campaign began I was excited about the prospect of a woman president. Now, I am very sad that the woman who really had the chance to become president in my lifetime turned out to be so unqualified for the job.

It might come as a surpise, but many men traveled the path with you as husbands, brothers, sons, fathers, and friends (and uncles Jamie!). We share your joys and dissappointments vicariously.

An interesting consensus was achieved during a recent conversation among some fellow Marines: The two most striking common denominators of all of the "hot spots" (read people are killing people) around the world is they are places where women are disrespected and mistreated. and where poverty is the norm.

Quite revealing don't you think?
