UPDATE: Obama has picked up another superdelegate from Oregon.

Barack Obama has picked up a series of superdelegates this morning, one of which at the expense of Sen. Clinton.

Today, two California superdelegates endorsed Obama, Reps. Jim Costa and Dennis Cardoza. Cadoza has previously endorsed Hillary Clinton.

In addition, two of John Edwards' New Hampshire delegates, who have since been designated as unpledged delegates, endorsed Obama.

Cardoza:

"This is the most important election of my lifetime. While I continue to greatly respect and admire Senator Clinton and feel she has made history with her campaign, I believe that Senator Obama will inevitably be our party's nominee for President. He has proven himself to be a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and inspirational leader and will take America in a new direction, which we desperately need."

Costa:

"In my conversations with Senator Obama, I explained to him that our San Joaquin Valley is the number one agricultural region in the country and in the world. Before the election in November, he needs to come to our Valley and understand the water challenges we face, the diversity of our farm crops, and the combination of the wonderful ethnic communities that make up Valley families, which is truly a reflection of our nation."

Superdelegates: The time to act is NOW. Enough is enough. This evil woman is out of control. You have the power to put a stop to this charade.
Does somebody has a list of the undecided delegates? Time to put the pressure on them. They will be blamed if this stupidity keeps going on.

However, we shouldn't confine our efforts to the undecided supers. After what Hillary said today, the question should be put to the SDs who have already endorsed her as to whether they can abide by a candidate who regards assassination as an historic part of the nomination process.

this was no gaffe - she said it before and it went unnoticed. Im sure she didnt expect the kind of reaction it is now getting especially after Huckabee was not villified for his sick joke. She is cold and calculating and wanted to remind everyone that something could happen to the frontrunner ( especially if the sickos see it on CNN)

I agree. I go further. This was intentional. She has painted Obama as a black radical extremist hostile to white America. She knows some of her supporters are fanatics who see her as a damsel in distress. A politician of her "experience" would not say this unless she intended to encourage the assassination of her opponent.

No - I think she is pretty much without morals or ethics at this point, but still constrained by her conscience to at least some extent.

What she said may be seen by some nut cases to be a call to arms, but I really don't believe that she was calling for that.

With this said, her words are a disqualifier to be the President of this nation. Either she is such a fool as to say them in an interview (not experienced, not presidential) or she really did mean them the way you think she meant them. Bottom line: she is not qualified or worthy of the position of President.

Now, if Hillary's constant scorched earth, slam Obama strategy hadn't been so dirty, I might even think that she is running cover for him, and that she truly fears for his life and wants to pick up the baton if he were to fall. But - I just am not that good at double think.

Yes, but didn't Huckabee flat out apologize? As in "I'm sorry" and in so many words?

Yes, he did. Flat out said his words were stupid and apologized to Senator Obama by name. I don't agree with with all of his politics, but he's a decent guy.

Huckabee fancies himself as a bit of a joker. Because this is known by most in that circle, he felt that he had carte blanche to make jokes at Sen. Obama's expense.
You could see that, as he was saying it, the realization of what he was saying was dawning on him, too late. He'll likely think twice before opening his gaping maw again.
His joke ended in a whimper and he subsequently had the good sense to apologize to Sen. Obama for the inference.
Not so with Clinton.
No apology forthcoming from this egocentric, ambitious & divisive creature.

There is no way this can go on til August. If the Superdelegates do no step up to the plate soon the elected supers should be voted out of office. This election is about America, not Clinton or Obama personal ambitions.

"The endorsement by US Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-California) of Obama today sends an extremely firm message to the Clinton campaign, and not only because he was, until today, a Clinton superdelegate.
The Field has learned that Cardoza is the first of a group of at least 40 Clinton delegates, many of them from California, that through talking among themselves came to a joint decision that all of them would vote for Obama at the convention. They have informed Senator Clinton that it’s time to unite around Obama, and that they will be coming out, one or two at a time, and announcing their switch between now and the convention if Senator Clinton doesn’t do the same."

She said she would not embarass her supporters in the waning days of the campaign and her supporters and some uncommitted delegates actually believed her. They have not yet realized that she is the darkest force in American politics since Richard Nixon.

It's time for the DNC leadership to put HIllary out of her misery. Since I am not a resident of New York, the only opportunity to NOT vote for her, if she runs for national office. I can never vote for her. There are hundreds of capable women in leadership position as Governors and Congresspersons that can seek the office of the President. We should not be led to believe that Clinton is the only woman eligible to run for President. That is an insult to the very capable women capably serving their constituents with dignity and honor.

That's why, as much as I support Obama, I could never vote for an Obama/Clinton ticket. I won't be responsible for his death, and anyone casting a vote for him into office would be culpable.

Hillary would never have been considered as VP on Obama's ticket. I believe they truly know what she really is. I have known for a long time, and I feel if the Clintons could have 'it 'done; Obama would be done. Yes, it's a terrible thing to think but I believe it in my heart. I am so ashamed of the typesof people in politics in our country. The superdelegates should move quickly and end this now so we can have a decent man in the white house.

As someone said in another post somewhere, given the raw ambition of the Clintons, if Obama took her on as VP and won, he would be wise to hire himself a personal soup-taster at the White House.

I know a number of folks, and have read the writings of others, who feel the same way.

And to even suggest that Obama is not aware of the potential danger he is in, given what he represents, would be ridiculous.

But. Senator Obama is a brave man, a worthy man, a man willing to put himself forth for the change this nation needs. And for this, I feel he needs to be honored - with our votes, our support, and our condemnation of anyone who would even suggest his assassination.

addendum: I do not claim that Hillary actively wants to see Obama killed. However, it was either a massive laps of reason in what she was saying, which was not presidential at all, or it was a play to fear if it was intentional. And I am done with fear.

From Blacks4Barack !
Demand To DNC: Kick Hillary Out NOW !
Insinuates That Obama Could Be ASSASINATED !

Now, things have gone way too far. Today, in an appearance in South Dakota, Hillary Clinton justified her reason for staying in the campaign by referring to the fact that presidential hopeful 'Robert Kennedy was assasinated in June'...implying that the same could occur to senator Obama. THIS IS SICK !!! Regardless of how the pundits try to spin this as just another misspeak, the statement speaks for itself and displays the diobolical mentality of Hillary Clinton.

It is unclear as to whether she is actually hoping that Obama would be killed, therefore giving her an open path to the Democratic nomination, or if she may be signaling her desire to some sick, warp minded homicidal maniac. Whichever be the case, her statement is automatic grounds for the Democratic National Committee headed by Howard Dean to demand that she remove herself from the race. If he does not, American Democratic should demand HIS stepping down !

This can not be tolerated. ANYONE who would wish the death of another human being in order to win a political position is sick, dangerous, maniacal, duranged and totally unfit for any political position, particularly President .

Remember when Reverend Wright said, "if God wants Obama to be president, he'll be president"? I think he was on to something. The source is ironic, I know, but the statement is true.

No. The word needs to be spread. HRC is using code words. I'm sure gregjones believes (like most of us do) that as many people as possible should respond with outrage to HRC's latest dastardly act.

HRC supporters and right wing trolls post multiple silly comments on these boards all the time and I've never seen you reply to one of them as you have to gregjones.

No harm intended but I think your faux concern doesn't measure up to the threat HRC has released and gregjones is working to neutralize.

Between Huckabee and Hillary ... Making these Statements and then Retracting them.
People never wait to hear the last Word. They take on the Statement. As far as I am concerned.
Huckabee should be prosecuted for his " Joke" he has NO IDEA how serious Some People took his Statement. I not speaking of those insulted. I am speaking of the Slime that found it Goating to end Obama's life. As Hillary said it too - She is Goating the Sick and demented as Well - When you start using Death Threats in Speech and pawn it off as ... I didnt Mean it. DAMAGE is DONE. No Matter what.

Could you imagine Hillary having to call Obama, "Mr. President?" She would probably choke just trying to say the words. Could you imagine her having to show respect - or not trying to tell him how he should do things if it was different from from what she would do? I think not. She would hate it so much.
