The 2007-08 broadcast TV season came to a close on Wednesday, and Nielsen (and the networks) have been busy crunching the numbers since then.
Which reality shows, dramas and comedies can reliably boast of being top-rated? Here's the top-20 TV ranker for the season. On top, of course, is "American Idol," with almost 29 million viewers. "Dancing With the Stars" follows with an average of 18 million to 21.6 million viewers, depending on the length of the show and day of the week.
The No. 1 scripted show was "Desperate Housewives," with an average of 18.2 million viewers. "House," "CSI," and "Grey's Anatomy" were also top-rated.
