Co-Chair Of Clinton's Hispanic Council Endorses Obama

A California congressman who is co-chair of Hillary Clinton's National Hispanic Leadership Council has defected and pledged his support to Barack Obama, Clinton's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The defection came as a new poll showed that Obama would handily defeat John McCain in California in November_ and do so by a larger margin than Clinton would.

U.S. Rep. Dennis Cardoza, whom Clinton named to his Hispanic leadership post in December, shortly after Cardoza announced he would support her for the nomination, announced he was switching sides on Friday.

"I believe that Senator Obama will inevitably be our party's nominee for president," Cardoza, a Democrat from Merced, in the San Joaquin Valley, said.

He was joined by another California superdelegate, U.S. Rep. Jim Costa, a Democrat from Fresno.

Speaking about Hispanics, I'm still waiting for B. Hussein Obama to offer statistics to back his claim that "hate crimes doubled" against Hispanics, and the Rush/Dobbs are responsible. Rush and Dobbs should sue Obama for accusing them of inspiring crimes.

INCREASE. The numbers will be through the roof for 2007, i'd suspect foul play if they weren't. . Even I've been subject to drive-by slurs as of late and comments such as "PR isn't even a state, why should you have a say" Allow me to address that here:

That's why.

The level of hate crimes against LGBT is outrageous and unacceptable. Even children participate, and Latinos have a %-age of lesbian or gay family members who have been additional targets of hate.

Anti-semitism, anti-black, anti-hispanic, anti-homosexual, all high compared to the population demographics. No more. The Latino exodus from Clinton will be due to her campaign tactics of lies, division and her support of the Iraq war, all things Latinos find repugnant, at least the ones who are personally familiar with them and stopped blindly following CNN & Telemundo years ago.

That meeting is scary, but right now Obama needs 52 more delegates of either kind, and I don't see that happening until the last primary. I've had it with the Democratic Party if they change the rules everyone agreed to, espectially after the fact that Obama has made it impossible for her to overtake him in pledged delegate votes. They all agreed to pledge delegate votes being the criterion for selecting the nominee (Obama has the majority), they all agreed that the primaries of MI and FL would not be recognized, and they all agreed that the number needed to win the nomination (including both pledged and superdelegate votes) should be 2025. Clinton has signed on to all of this and has tried to undo all of this. If the rules committee sides with her, it proves that the Democratic Party itself is not honest or trustworthy. (We all know about Clinton.)

Cardoza is the first of a group of at least 40 Clinton delegates that came to a joint decision that all of them would vote for Obama at the convention. They have informed Senator Clinton that it ’s time to unite around Obama, they will be coming out, 1 or 2 at a time, announcing their switch between now and the convention.

First, hooray for the Cardoza 40! Your country, and soon-to-be-POTUS Obama, applaud your choice to help end this fractious primary season. The sooner we can begin party unification in earnest, and focus all our fire on McBush, the better.

Speaking of that "sooner the better" part (which I think we all agree) here's an idea. How about if you gather any additional Supers you can in the next couple days. Then, once everyone's settled back in from their Memorial Day weekend, you ALL COME OUT FOR OBAMA AT ONCE. The effect, on the heels of HRC's ghastly comments about Bobby Kennedy, would be to start the final landslide of super delegates, that would bring this primary process to a close that even the Clintons couldn't deny.

Hillary Clinton responded by saying, "I'll continue until every last delegate has switched sides. That's democracy. Don't tell me the rest of the delegates don't count!"

She's in it to win it. And by win, I mean lose ugly.

That means she will try to poach until and during the convention so she's in it until late August in the hope that something happens to Obama. And she will continue to cause trouble even though she cannot possibly win. I say that the party will have to disown her, the sooner the better.

Isn't it something that many of Hillary's team have ended up giving support t o Obama. Even long time political party members from the Dems have constantly been steering clear of Hillary, and going for Obama. She has continually had people distance themselves from her, and its not just about Obama's appeal, but rather Hillary's phoney attitude and bad behavior when she doesn't get her way. I think this has opened up a lot of people eyes as to what this woman really is like, and most people don't like it, and neither do I.
