GOP Targets Al Franken's Playboy "Porn-O-Rama" Column

ABC News:

Al Franken is a funny man, but Minnesota voters might not see the humor in a column that the former Saturday Night Live star -- and current candidate for the United States Senate -- wrote in Playboy magazine in 2000.

On Thursday, the Minnesota Republican Party released a letter, signed by six prominent GOP women, including a state senator and state representative, calling on Franken to apologize for his "demeaning and degrading" article.

It pretty much sums up the differences between the Dems and the Repubs doesn't it? GOPers are always worried about what's going on below the waist, while Dems seem more concerned about what's happening above the neck. Franken is a satirist and a funny one at that! To be able to tell the difference between sexual satire and porn, you have to have an actual brain! Acording to the news reports, he paid the taxes on the money he earned from speeches he gave, but paid them to the state he was a resident of instead of the state he gave the speech in. An accounting error. Paid to the wrong states, but paid.

The Republican Party -- calling someone out for "degrading" women -- this is a joke right?

After they've pushed for years to restrict a woman's right to control her reproductive organs?! And campaigned against equal pay for women?! And make no secret of the fact that they believe most women should be more like June Cleaver than Ana Merkel, Germany's PM?! (Notice, that I didn't mention HRC -- she's not exactly a role-model for women, as far as I'm concerned.­)

Sounds like they are real desperate to not have him win the Dem nomination so he can't run against Norm Coleman.
Al would be a breath of fresh air in the Senate. He is intelligent, articulate, and has a sense of honor about him. No wonder the GOP hate his guts.

Actually, I like Franken BETTER after hearing he's got a sense of humor enough to want to collumn with Playboy.
The Magazine/E­ntertainme­nt Co. of Playboy is an established and respected business. And if Franken has any sense, he will use this publicity, in a dignified manner, of course, to his advantage.
