Phoenix Business Journal:

A Tuesday fundraiser headlined by President Bush for U.S. Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign is being moved out of the Phoenix Convention Center.

Sources familiar with the situation said the Bush-McCain event was not selling enough tickets to fill the Convention Center space, and that there were concerns about more anti-war protesters showing up outside the venue than attending the fundraiser inside.

And the legacy of bald-faced unrepentant lying continues. The contempt for the truth that these Republicans show is ceaselessly breathtaking.

You know things are bad when the GOP nominee can't sell out in his hometown with the president on the marquee!

McCain makes Bob Dole look like Ronald Reagan.

Just because McShame can't get enough people to show up at a fund raiser - do not count him out. We have unverifiable voting computers manufactured by a Republican supporter, these machines seem to be scarce in many urban areas, especially precincts that have a majority of people of color, people not being able to vote because they don't have a valid state issued ID, etc.

We live in a nation where we can no longer assume that there is accuracy in election results.

W. is like that girlfriend or boyfriend in college you did not want your friends to see you in public with, because..., well you know why. Of course, if you are a college educated non "hardworking white American". I truly feel sorry for the man, when I imagine how lonely and depressed he will be after he leaves office.

bwahahahahahahaha!!!
McCain has to take his campaign donations from the rich since he is no "man of the people"..... won't be any 75,000 size crowd showing up for his appearances.... And Dubya is the kiss of death for any GOP in the running for any office... Funny how Schwarzenegger (who stole his governorship from Davis using the typical GOP tactic of lying and making a storm in a teacup) won't be seen anywhere near Dubya....
Its laughable the same way that former AG Gonzales can't find a job.. the American Bar Association named him Attorney of the Year specifically to call attention to the fact that he is unethical as hell and would do more harm than good to any firm that hired him.
In fact most of the Administration shills wouldn't be working at all if they weren't hired on by the Administration.... I hear that even Yoo is being pressured out of his job at UCBerkeley...
I guess it was Tom Davis who said that "if the GOP brand were dogfood they would take it off the shelf." Peggy Noonan said that George Bush destroyed the GOP...
What we have to do now is make certain that the election margins are broad enough that they can't manipulate the results and we may get our gov back with a large Dem majority....

Gee, what a surprise. Bush is poison to any candidate who gets near him. He is the typhoid mary of his day. McCain needs to skip Romney as well. He is also bad news. Now, if McCain grew a brain or two, he would pick up Wesley Clark, If Clark was willing. That would be a winning ticket. But this is no surprise to me at all. When Bush came to St Louis last month, they didn't even say when or where he would be, flew him out of Scott Airforce Base instead of Lambert for security reasons. The public hates the man and with good reason. MCcain, this is your one and only wake up call, pay attention to detail.

Why isn't this bigger news? He's a SENATOR from Arizona, a conservative, Republican state, and he can't get a fundraiser off the ground in his own "back yard"? Can you imagine the headlines if Clinton or Obama had to cancel a public fundraising event in their respective states?
