Nanotechnology could be the new hope of cancer patients since it's been shown to make radiation therapy of cancer more effective:

A nanotech approach to overcoming the resistance of some cancer cells to radiation therapy has been successfully tested in mice. From the National Cancer Institute's Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer "Nanoparticle-Induced heating boosts antitumor radiation therapy":

Radiation therapy is a time-honored and effective component of modern cancer therapy, but its ultimate utility is limited by the fact that some cancer cells are resistant to ionizing radiation. Now, a research team led by Sunil Krishnan, M.D., of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, has found that pretreating tumors with gold nanoparticles and near-infrared radiation dramatically improves the response of tumors to radiation therapy.

Reporting its work in the journal Nano Letters [abstract], the Texas investigators showed that inducing a mild temperature rise in tumors increases blood flow throughout tumors, particularly in those regions of a tumor that are normally deprived of oxygen that results from the disrupted network of blood vessels found deep within tumors. To produce the mild temperature rise, or hyperthermia, the researchers used gold nanoparticles and infrared light. Gold nanoparticles become warm, or even hot, when irradiated with near-infrared light, an effect that other researchers are exploring as an anticancer therapy.

This doesn't sound like real nano-technology, but if it works, who cares?

Actually, the day may come when nano-machines can be built that can target cancer cells and leave healthy cells alone. When that day arrives, I think we will be able to celebrate the end of cancer, but we may have to worry about the machines taking over the world.

First nanotech causes cancer now it cures it. What's up?

Please read this:

There are many , many stories about this helping people with cancer. I don't know for sure just what I read.

Then visit www.thefactsaboutmonavie.com (this is where I buy mine)

I hope this is helpful.

Please go to google video and watch In Lies We Trust.
Cancer was created in US Military labs and given to us by vaccines.

Someday molecular constructors may become reality but I'm not holding my breath. What is currently touted as nanotechnology is little more than advances in conventional chemistry and material science that lets scientists function more effectively at the nano meter scale. Admittedly this kind of knowledge is necessary as a prerequisite for molecular constructors but we still aren't there yet.

Google Dr. Naresh Dalal , a professor at Florida State University, to see some amazing work in nanoscience.

Nanotech is the ONLY hope against the incurables like cancer, MS, schizophrenia,
bipolar, ALS. Big Science IS SO FAR AWAY FROM CURING THEM with drug treatments,
so very far away, that it will take something like nanotech to cure any of them. The last
three are systemic not just mental and yet they keep trying to treat the brain only.
For many people taking anti psych meds is almost as bad as chemo. But not to
worry. If you get diabetes as a "side effect" from Eli Lilly's Ziprexa they've got
*wonderful* stuff for that too.

One day, science will develop the ability to inject these micro-machines into our bodies to eradicate cancer cells, not just treat them. Hooray for science. NOW GIVE US UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE, DAMMIT!

This was covered on 60 Minutes not long ago it also this new treatment or concept for a treatment and break through has also been featured on line in other videos I have seen regarding nano-technology and cancer treatment the man who made the breakthrough himself is fighting cancer..it would be great if they could try this from an experimental stand point to help Senator Kennedy...

It's a real disgrace that under Bush and these thieving lying hypocrite ignorant Republicans cancer research has been cut repeatedly...and here Texas is the most cancer ridden and polluting state in America..
