Iraq Soldier Discusses His "Kills" (VIDEO)

In the spring of 2007, a conference was held on the outskirts of Washington, DC. Entitled Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan, it hearkened back to the Winter Soldier testimonies held three decades ago during the Vietnam War. Of the testimonies we filmed, this one, by Iraq War vet Jon Michael Turner, was the most compelling and intense.

Please note, Americans, that neither the Republican Political Party nor the Democratic Political Party - while each has had control of a branch of Congress - has EVER asked ('front-line', 'ground-pounder') veterans of the Iraq occupation to testify, under oath, to a formal Congressional committee hearing. The IVAW veterans all replied during the informal House PC hearing that they would "absolutely" be willing to testify under oath to Congress, and some are willing to name names of their superiors in the chain of command who have countenanced obviously barbaric Rules of Engagement in Iraq.

Do either of the power-mad political parties in Congress (never mind the presidency for the moment) deserve your support? Or is it time we start to think outside their corrupt and narrow little box, to elect Americans to Congress who WANT to know the truth and who aren't afraid to reveal it, even when the American media is suppressing it on all sides.

What was that recent statistic? Some 12,000 vets under VA care last year attempted suicide? These guys have got to shift the blame for their acts. It was not their fault, it was HIS fault. Don't consume yourself with self-hate, turn your entirely justified rage on the monsters in power who's decisions turned you into something unrecognizable. The opening line of this article needs correcting. The Winter Soldier event was held this past March - the spring of 2008 - just before the 5th anniversary of this horrible war. I sure hope I'm not the first to point this out. Otherwise, that means far too few were paying attention at the time.
