Fortune.com:

Think of it as a popularity contest for companies. Each year, research firm Universum surveys MBA candidates on where they'd most like to work for an exclusive Fortune.com list.

1. Google

% of MBAs who want to work there*: 23.65%
Headquarters: Mountain View, CA
Type of company: Technology
It may not actively acknowledge a desire to hire MBAs specifically, but Google has done a great job of luring such talent anyway. With perks that range from free gourmet food to onsite laundry and tuition reimbursement, it's no wonder B-school grads are drawn to the search engine giant.

For its part, Google says it's looking for "people who are excited to solve cutting-edge problems in their field" for jobs ranging from project management to PR to sales to software.

Who cares where MBAs want most to work.

Most of them don't have a clue how to run a business.

They just grab & sell.

I wonder if they included entrepreneurship as an option in the survey. I graduated 20 years ago and many in my class were looking at starting their own businesses.... Real estate was very popular at that time, but it is cyclical...

The apostrophe is incorrect, you grammar challenged dweebs!!

Apostrophes are used for possession, not plurals. Another case of someone's ignorance (notice the possessive?) getting the better of their judgement.
Proper way to write it: MBAs. Grammatically correct, don't be scared to be right, for once in your life.

Where young people want to work before they know the first thing about real life and where they end up having fulfilling long term careers are two different pairs of boots. I have met plenty of young people who had aspirations to work in companies that were traded as worse places than hell by all experienced professionals that I know personally who had actually been there. In other words: articles like this are a waste of good trees when printed and a waste of hard drive space when served from a web server.

Excellent point. Mid-twenty-year-olds with newly minted MBAs have no real world experience. Even if they intern at one of their favorite companies, they are sheltered and hand-held through the process. Of course, they have high expectations for promotion and when that doesn't materialize, they job-hop and pad their resumes on their climb up the corporate ladder. I've had 10 (and one TBD) bosses in the two positions above me in the last 8 years, and only one of them still works for the company.

How about writing an article on the 26 companies where PEOPLE can work?
Get benefits and produce something we can actually see?

You will never hear about those. For one thing the writers of Fortune don't even know the names of these places and neither do the inexperienced people they ask. Many of the best places to work for are privately owned or closely held companies which keep a very low public profile but are the true foundations of their respective industries. Some of these businesses are around for generations and have ultra-conservative business models with long term growth, steady market domination and a very human approach to their employees which they see as their core assets rather than placeholders that can be moved around.

Wow...an awful lot of those "desirable" employers are either in banking and the financial industry or are making serious efforts to offshore their labor base.

One can only hope that the B-schools have finally started to seriously teach ethics - and that their recent graduates are not nearly as corruptible as their predecessors are.

Ethics? Yeah, there's one course in the syllabus.
