McClellan: Bush Couldn't Remember If He Did Cocaine

Writes McClellan: "'The media won't let go of these ridiculous cocaine rumors,' I heard Bush say. 'You know, the truth is I honestly don't remember whether I tried it or not. We had some pretty wild parties back in the day, and I just don't remember.'

"I remember thinking to myself, How can that be? How can someone simply not remember whether or not they used an illegal substance like cocaine? It didn't make a lot of sense."

Having seen a coke head relative experience shaky memory makes me think the man "tried" it on a daily basis for a long time. Somewhere there are party goers and a dealer who could write books that would sell.

Not too bright...... gotta wonder about that. Didn't flat deny it, just said he doesn't remember doing it. Of course, who doesn't remember those days in the 70s and 80s when nobody thought cocaine was any worse than aspirin. Who ever did it couldn't possibly forget bellying up to a grinder and fluffing up a chunk of pink or blue flake Peruvian blow, laying it out on a mirror and sucking it up through a rolled up 100dollar bill? The freeze, the taste in the back of the throat, the incredible social space opening up and the serious sense of animation..... followed by the hint of a wicked crash and the undeniable urge to get some more before that happened....
I am sure that he does remember doing cocaine.... he just isn't much of a liar these days... stopped trying. He would have been better off flat denying it.
