Charlie Gibson: "I Honestly Don't Know" If I Want To Renew My ABC News Contract After The Election
New York Times:
Charles Gibson, whose contract as anchor of "World News" on ABC is due to expire soon after the presidential election, said in an interview this week that the network had asked him to remain on the job for the foreseeable future, and that he was considering doing so.
"We're figuring this out," Mr. Gibson said by telephone on Tuesday, at the conclusion of an interview arranged to promote the networks' forthcoming cancer telethon. "They've asked me to stay. We'll see."
Asked if he wanted to continue on "World News," Mr. Gibson, 65, said: "I honestly don't know. We're in negotiation at the moment."
Earlier in the conversation he said, "I'm having a good time," adding that the presidential election in particular was proving to be "such a great story" that "just keeps on giving."
