Not one for arriving on time to visit her husband in prison, Amy Winehouse today spent more than an hour in court supporting her husband who faces charges of assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The troubled star sat in the front row of the public gallery as Snaresbrook Crown Court, east London, and smiled lovingly at Blake Fielder-Civil, who smiled back at her from the dock.

Winehouse wore a short blue spotted dress in a clear effort to look smart for her husband's trial, but the classy clothes failed to hide her alarmingly bad skin.

The singer's ragged appearance shocked onlookers as she arrived at court.

It's tough to work up much sympathy for someone who is immensely talented and who is wealthy from that talent, but who insists on flaunting her disrespect for the rest of us. But, I do feel bad that she doesn't understand that she's ruining her health from a young age. Her antics may be amusing to a 24 year old who feels immortal, but someday she'll realize that she's taken years off her life. If she truly has a substance/addiction problem of some sort, I also feel bad that she doesn't have anyone around her who can get her to deal with it.

Fair question. It's not her addiction. In fact, i have a lot of empathy for people with substance problems. What bothers me is when they are enabled to believe they are entitled to behave in public in such a way as to disrupt the lives of those around them and create a really lousy example for kids who otherwise admire them. The addiction deserves compassion. The behavior warrants criticism. Allowing people, even celebrities, to use addiction as an excuse for asocial behavior enables them, it doesn't help them. We live in a celebrity and media culture that publicizes and even rewards negative behavior. That's what I was trying to say. "Disrespect" was a bad choice of words on my part.

The image was obviously photoshopped. If you follow the link, you see that in the first image she is wearing her signature heavy eye makeup. In the close-up, the eye liner is gone.

We all know this girl is a coke head. There's no need to malign her character any further. It's publications such as the Daily that push her into depression and manipulate public opinion.
