Not one for arriving on time to visit her husband in prison, Amy Winehouse today spent more than an hour in court supporting her husband who faces charges of assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The troubled star sat in the front row of the public gallery as Snaresbrook Crown Court, east London, and smiled lovingly at Blake Fielder-Civil, who smiled back at her from the dock.

Winehouse wore a short blue spotted dress in a clear effort to look smart for her husband's trial, but the classy clothes failed to hide her alarmingly bad skin.

The singer's ragged appearance shocked onlookers as she arrived at court.

She's doing meth. I've seen this before. Poor thing. If someone doesn't intervene, and this is VERY difficult to do with such an addictive and destructive drug, she is unfortunately doomed. It is very painful to watch.

I was thinking the same thing. Haven't seen for real, only on Frontline, etc. but the transformation is horrifying. I've never heard of cocaine having this effect. She looks like she's aged 40 years. So sad.

This is really, really sad. We are seeing a young, beautiful and talented person self-destruct right before our eyes. She really needs to understand what happened when she was young that made her want to lose herself in drugs. It's a shame. She needs prayer. She doesn't need to be ridiculed.

Speed sores. I had a friend who shot speed and it's a vitimin deficiancy. It ends up looking like somebody put cigarettes out on your face. I showed up at her house one time and she had a needle in her neck and she was breast feeding her newborn at the same time. I decided being her friend was a bad idea.

She called me the other day and said she wanted to come over. That her kid was now 18 years old. I said, that's nice, and hung up.

It's that bad. Trust me.
