Seems Hillary nurses the same persistent, mulish rejection of reality as Bush.

But campaign officials for both Clinton and her opponent, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, questioned the accuracy of the survey results -- which show Clinton leading Obama 60 percent to 34 percent among 600 likely Democratic voters -- and urged news outlets not to run them prior to the primary.

THIS IS WHAT I MEANT WHEN I SAID I WOULD ONLY BELIEVE THESE POLL NUMBERS WHEN I SAW THEm happen. this is from a local south dakota paper. remember how the polls had hillary winning iowa, and barack only winning sc by 3, when he actually won iowa and sc 55 to 27? i do, and i don't believe this poll till it happens.

I do like Hillary after all,she has learned from Obama,HOPE is something we all need. But Obama also did say "Theres such a thing as being too late" Hillary is too late to HOPE on this now.

I too am really interested in the result in SD tomorrow. It is a mystery to me how Sen. Clinton could be so ahead in this poll when for all practical purposes she's lost. What's more, the big Sunday talking heads, such as Russert, have said as much, so everyone is aware of Clinton's standing, even if they don't watch much cable. Why on earth would a substantial majority in SD vote Clinton over Obama? Well, I guess time will tell.

Let's just pray that she isn't the VP pick. Lord knows we don't need her and Bill mucking things up like they did their own campaign.

I think Bubba just took care of that for you (and for his lovely wife) with his SLIME outburst.

It's fascinating to watch these two competing desires running around like demons in his brain:

On the one hand, overtly wanting Hillary to win so badly, to redeem the Clinton legacy.

On the other, covertly (and unconsciously) wanting her to lose because she would then become the center of the world's attention, while he would be merely an accessory.

Good times!

I thought she was fighting for Zimbabwe and Women and Civil rights. Is that how much they all cost?

Mugabe is ready to pay that amount for only one item on that list,Zimbabwe.

Shame on her,and Fools to all her supporters who actually thought her staying on had anything to do with them.

Needed yet: 39.5 delegates for Senator Obama (MSNBC)
6-2-08
- Added DNC Jerome Wiley Segovia (VA) for Obama
- Added DNC Nancy DiNardo (CT) for Obama
- Added DNC Chris Whittington (LA) for Clinton
- Added DNC Brenda Lawrence (MI)* for Obama
- Added DNC Lu Battaglieri (MI)* for Obama
- Added DNC Irene Stein (NY) for Clinton
- Added DNC Janee Murphy (FL)* for Obama
- Added Eric Coleman (MI) for Obama
- Added James Clyburn (tomorrow)

Okay - some can argue that superdelegates can change their minds, but it is not likely. More and more the states favor Senator Obama. Great example: California
Obama 52, McCain 35 (California)
Obama now preferred over Clinton among Democratic Party voters - he now is preferred over Clinton among Democratic Party voters 51% to 38% to be their party’s standard-bearer in the fall. Men affiliated with the Democratic Party strongly prefer Obama to Clinton (55% to 34%). And despite their strong support for Clinton in the February primary, women affiliated with the party are now more likely to favor Obama over Clinton as their party’s standard-bearer, 49% to 41%.

For all intents and purposes the primary race is over. I also read somewhere today that 51 superdelegates are slated to come out for Senator Obama tomorrow so he can claim on Tuesday night the he is the presumed Democratic nominee. I cannot remember where I read that prediction but I think it was on the DU site.

ARG just put a poll out and has Clinton up by 26 in South Dakota and down in Montana by 4.

If she pulls out both States, she would go to convention.

I can't believe South Dakota.

They are like West Virginia of the Mountains.

Obama had everything going for him there - Presumptive Nominee Status, Money, Spent more time as he wrote off Puerto Rico pretty much, All the Supers are for him including the big one - Tom Daschle, the location is Moutain Region where he has had his biggest victories, and yet somehow he is getting his clock cleaned.

Unbelieveable.

For me, that takes away big time from the Celebration.

This leaves me with the feeling that she just ran out of time and her bad campaign blew her money.

"They are like West Virginia of the Mountains."

Except that most of SD is pretty flat and almost all of WV is mountains. West Virginia would be just as big geographically if you took an iron to it.

As for the poll, it's probably an outlier.

HuffPost's Pick

I never thought I would see myself write this, but I wish that these folks would wait until the end of the week to make their collective announcement. That would give Hillary Clinton a final chance to take a bow before her millions of voters and bask in the warmth of an incredible achievement as the first woman to make a sustained and competitive run for the nomination. Maybe I'm a wimp here because I have been as angry as any other Obama supporter over some of her tactics and also recognize that given an inch, she might try to take an additional mile. But I do think that there is no reason to pile on right now. If you definitely have the Super Delegates lined up, give Hillary a chance to make a concession speech and then try to line up as many Democratic leaders from both your supporters and those who have supported Hillary to get on a stage with you somewhere and provide a visual that says that the Democrats are going forward together to get this thing done.

I agree with this but, as you say, give her an inch... Obama must be careful, because time and time again Hillary has thrown a wrench at him, out of nowhere, i.e. when she was making conciliatory noises. You can't blame us if we are a little gunshy when it comes to her. Me, every time I have felt pity for her, she has done something awful. Giving Hillary a final chance isn't quite like giving anyone else on earth the same...for the simple reason that nothing ever seems to BE final with her, she just goes on and and on.

Yes, Obama needs to put a decisive, definitive and final end to this tortuous primary season and I hope that all of the superdelegates announce their allegiances before the final bell on Tuesday night so that Obama can emphasize his historic victory with several exclamation marks!!!

The comments today about her planning "the next phase of her campaign" give me a knot in my stomach. Another knot came right after dinner, when George S. ran a clip of Obama saying that he will be working with Hillary in November.... Please tell me that he isn't going to make her his VP. That would be such a disaster, for so many reasons. It would be such a poor partnership, with her trying to out-shine and out-do him at every turn. It's poor chemistry. It's a tense and mine-filled relationship. And then there is Bill... and all the baggage from the Clinton administration.

Mr. Obama, please do not be strong-armed into this. Her "terms" in the next few days should not include this demand. She is not entitled to it. Being on the ticket is not her Divine Right. Please select someone who totally, fully, whole-heartedly supports you, your ideals and your vision. She does not.

The thought of Hillary being Barack's running mate is unbearable. But I will be voting for Obama not matter who the running mate is, that is how much I believe in his candidacy. If it's Hillary, then we need to just suck it up and support the ticket against McCaIn.

Obama has good advisers and any one with good advisers will never ever work closely with Hillary. And above them all,He has Iron Lady Michelle. Dude to understand what I am talking about, try to tresspass a black woman.

Black women dont take shit. Obama is only being presidential, that means keeping everyone together and try to make them happy, but also knows when to say enough is enough.

To sum it,he is a nice guy,but he also know when to turn on the heat and build borders.

I hope that they endorse as soon as the polls close in both states Tuesday, if not before because I have the feeling Senator Clinton is planning to announce victory tomorrow night.
The Clinton campaign in no way accepts or acknowledges that the primaries in Michigan and Florida BOTH were completely tainted and are not a 'true and fair representation of the will of the voters' The ruling of the DNC caused these primaries to be tainted by 'voter supression' and 'supression of voter choice' and this is why I am outraged that the DNC used those numbers in any way to reinstate delegates... they should have just been split 50/50 because they should not in any way validate the results of those tainted primaries. I am outraged that the Clinton campaign lies to the public and claims that they have won the popular vote. I am sorry but that is absolutely inaccurate. There is no way to 'count every vote' based on the popular vote because there are caucus states that do not track popular vote and because of these tainted primaries. I hope that the superdelegates endorse Senator Obama en masse before the end of the day Tuesday and put an end to this. I hope that they do so in huge enough numbers to put her fight to rest and that those who have been supporting her are committed to changing their votes in order to stop this fight from going to convention.

DEPRESSING!!!

Negotiations are understood to be taking place between the Obama and Clinton campaigns about the Illinois senator helping to repay some of the massive debt incurred by his rival. One of Hillary Clinton's donors said that the former First Lady's campaign was as much as $40 million in the red.

In a conference call with major donors this afternoon, contributors were told by Harold Ickes, a senior Clinton adviser, that she was unlikely to pull out of the race until the issue of her massive debts was resolved. The New York senator has lent her own campaign at least $11.5 million.

One source close to a major donor said: "It's not about the vice-presidency or any other position she might get. It's about the money – in particular the Clinton family money." The Obama campaign might have to reach deeply into its well-stocked coffers in order to secure the full support of Mrs Clinton and her husband Bill in the November general election.

AND NOW ROBBING THE OBAMA-CAMPAING OF THEIR PRECIOUS CAMPAIGNING MONEY, WHICH IS SO BADLY NEEDED IN THE GE?

This is unbelievable...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:12 PM on 06/02/2008

You misunderstand. Obama *can not* give Clinton the money given to him by donors for his presidential run. However, he *can* work with her (via targeted fundraisers) to help her with her debt. To the point, your donation is safe. So, ease up on your outrage.

I think 'as much as $40 million' is just a way of
innoculating us for 'as much as $100 million' or
even more.

Hill raised 'a quarter of a billion' from her
corporate supporters in the run-up to the primary
but that was soon gone the way of $25,000 per
night hotel bills in Los Vegas.

Even as she was fibbing about raising $10 million
the night of her Indiana win (she raised a million),
she kept flying her empty (save a few members of
the press) 727. How much does it cost to fly coast
to coast with jet fuel now going at $300 a gallon?

Obama gets by with a comuter jet.

There's going to be an avalance of books coming
out about this extraordinary campaign, most probably
written by miffed insiders like the scape-goated
Patty Solis Doyle.

Obama cannot legally give her money from his campaign contributions. He can do fundraisers and that is about it. Don't panic people.
