Deranged Narcissism

On CNN's election night coverage Tuesday, political analyst Jeffrey Toobin called Hillary Clinton's refusal to concede the election "deranged narcissism." Watch Toobin below:

The folks over at The Hotline put together a roundup of other pundits' reaction to Clinton's speech in New York City tonight:

"Well whatever that was, it wasn't a concession speech." -- FNC's Hume

"Clearly, she's trying to position herself, keep her options open." -- NBC's Russert, on HRC's speech (MSNBC).

"If I were Barack Obama, if I heard that speech, I would not be very happy. ... They are living in parallel universes right now." -- CNN's Borger.

"This was a defiant speech, against all the kind of advice that [heavyweights] within the Democratic Party gave her" -- Ex-WH adviser David Gergen, on whether he was surprised by Clinton's speech (CNN).

"She did everything but offer Obama the vice presidency" -- GOP strategist Alex Castellanos (CNN)

He's on Larry King right no, and Gergen said something about (creepy) Lanny Davis putting together a VP petition. Lanny just smiled. Arianna's on the panel, too.

Lanny Davis will be lucky to get a job as a men's room attendant after this.

Actually, he would enjoy that job way too much.

just wondering where she'll move the goalposts in the morning. can you even imagine if positions were reversed? the world would have crashed on his head if he acted like she did tonite. matter of fact, her staying in was ridiculous and vain ---she is going to need meds for this power disease she has.

come on america---lets go get our country back.

so true. If it was clinton winning 11 in a row in feb. EVERYONE would have been saying obama had to drop out and I bet even Hillary and Bill would have personally made those comments. Selfish.

Doubtful, as they would have been called "racist" --and so it would not have happened.

So, Hillary and her supporters are not part of the country. Neither are the republicans who supported George Bush -- those are the people Obama has to speak to. And if you dismiss them, insult them and not try to win them over then Obama will not have a chance to govern even if he does get elected.

With hateful supporters like those above, it is not likely he can win. This hate is a disease and you guys are contagious.

She had ever right to stay in the campaign for as long as she wants. By the way, her staying in brought millions of Dems to the polls and also made Obama known to more and more Americans because as much as you like him, the rest of the country doesn't know him. He came to the Senate and has done little -- and don't distort all the legislation you think he authored or got passed -- just didn't happen. Because of Hillary taking the campaign to ALL States, she did Obama, the DNC and the country a favor.

We are taking it back, block by block my friend. It's obvious none of them have any class. Not this time Clintons, not this time.

eladora,

I agree with you. I am disappointed in Hillary how she went on about herself. I thought she was giving her victory speech. I have faith Hillary will help Obama bring the party together, and our party will beat McCain!

I hope the party comes together soon!

God bless us
