Campaign Coverage Comedy: Anderson Asks Brazile To Be Her "Boo," Matthews Cracks Craig Jokes

While Tuesday night marked a milestone in American politics, that didn't mean the coverage was 100% serious. Below, enjoy two of the lighter clips from the historic night when Barack Obama won enough delegates to declare himself the Democratic nominee — first, from CNN, Anderson Cooper telling Donna Brazile that he wanted to be her "boo;" and second, from MSNBC, Chris Matthews making several jokes at Larry Craig's expense.

A "boo" is someone you care for very closely, like a "best friend", "lover", "special person", or anyone you know you can "count on". That's the black meaning of the word. It doesn't necessarily have to be the opposite sex.

In Donna's instance, she means "someone she can trust to have her back" and "someone she can talk to unconditionally".

Bullshit! I'm black as Shaft and everybody knows that your "boo" is your main squeeze, your honey, your other half. Didn't we have some stupid songs about it just a few years back? Alicia/Usher and Nelly/Kelly. They're black too, you know.

Donna and Anderson are 2 of my favorite people...................they both tell it like it is................and that was a very sweet and touching moment , his smile and her look said it all. She would have said more...but asked if the cameras were still on..................left us all hanging on what REALLY would have been said.

She wins the award for Best Hair Evar -IMHO.
How DOES she get it that lovely steely grey colour?

Does Chris Matthews EVER shut up? He seems to have a perpetual smirk on his face. He lost me when he made it clear that he felt that anyone not voting for Barak Obama was a racist. Evidently, he doesn't realize that not all agree with Obama's political agenda - nothing to do with race. Maybe he has guilt left over from his lily white upbringing.

It's supposed to be "beau", as in boyfriend or girlfriend. But, of course, once the hip urbanites (blacks) got hold of it, it became 'boo", BTW, I'm one of those hip urbanites - just so I don't get any "you're racist" message. ;-)

Why is there a double standard for straight celebrities and closeted gay celebrities. Yes none of it should be our business but why the difference?

Keeping gay people closeted and talking about straight people's personal lives sends a message that being gay is shameful.

Gay teenagers commit suicide every day because they don't have role models like Anderson Cooper.

Read QUEER IN AMERICA if you'd acutally like to research this topic and not just make a pitchy comment.
