Hillary Clinton To Suspend Campaign Saturday

The Clinton campaign issued a statement at around 9pm saying they will be hosting an event to announce her support for Sen. Obama on Saturday, as opposed to Friday:

Senator Clinton will be hosting an event in Washington, DC to thank her supporters and express her support for Senator Obama and party unity. This event will be held on Saturday to accommodate more of Senator Clinton's supporters who want to attend.

Multiple news organizations reported early Wednesday evening that Hillary Clinton is expected to officially suspend her campaign and drop out of the Democratic race on Friday.

The Times has more details on the ending of her campaign:

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is moving to suspend her campaign and endorse Senator Barack Obama on Friday after Democratic members of Congress urged her on Wednesday to leave the race and allow the party to unite around Mr. Obama, according to a senior adviser to Mrs. Clinton.

Mrs. Clinton is likely to make the announcement in New York City, an aide said, although no final venue has been chosen.

Her decision came after a day of telephone conversations with supporters on Capital Hill about what she should do now that Mr. Obama has claimed enough delegates to secure the nomination. Mrs. Clinton had initially said she wanted to wait before making any decision, but her aides said that in conversations, some of her closest supporters said it was urgent that she step aside.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the word from the Obama camp is that a joint ticket is unlikely:

Close supporters suggested she would like to be his running mate, on a unity ticket.

But close advisers to Sen. Obama signaled an Obama-Clinton ticket was highly unlikely. People in both camps cited what several called "a deal-breaker" -- Bill Clinton may balk at releasing records of his business dealings and big donors to his presidential library.

Most losing candidates 'suspend' their campaigns so they have the ability to still fundraise and pay off their debts. Once HRC endorses Obama, she endorses Obama. Campaign over. There is nothing nefarious about 'Suspend.' Don't be so paranoid. Keep your eye on the real enemies of this country.

She should have endorsed him on Tuesday night. She was almost defiant in her speech that night. It was unbelieveable. So ungracious and so arrogant. And after a few days of drama and begging for the VP spot she says she'll endorse him on Saturday. Too little way too late. As an avid Obama supporter from the beginning I pray that Senator Obama DOES NOT PICK HILLARY as VP. She is old school politics, nasty politics. She is no asset to change. Ambassador to Tibet would be a good job for her.

I'm sure most of us heard Howard Fineman last night talk about how some of Hillary's closest advisors sought out help from 8 staunch Clinton-supporting Senators to "speak to her". This was after 23 congressmen did the same thing. When you own staff has to ask staunch supporters to intervene, this clearly says Hillary is completely detached from reality, is in a bubble of denial, and listens to nobody but herself.

I suspect the larger issue is the fight to control the Democratic party. The Clinton's began to lose power when Dean took over the DNC. As much as anything else, Bill is fighting to regain control of the democratic party. Hillary is acting as his general who, nearly out of gas and running on fumes, is making a final push into Obama territory,

Unfortunately for the Clinton's, it seems they failed to realize that a large faction of those such as Warren Buffet, etc. who, behind the scenes, pull most of the nation's levers, have selected Obama for the Dem faction of the Republicratic party. They know if they are to survive, they must at least try to keep we the sheeple moderately content. Aware that what passes for world finance is little more than an unsustainalbe Ponzi scheme, they must encourage a new world paradigm.. Or, perhaps, actually put Adam's Smith's/ David Hume's intinsic philosophy/paradigm in place of the malformed, convoluted view of Smith/Hume, which is not at all what Smith/Hume intended.

In the meantime, Repubs will run ads using Hillary's many attempts to kneecap Obama. If, as Billary planned, McSame wins, Billary hopes to make another run in 2012. If that occurs then We The Sheeple need to, nation wide and en masse, take to the streets as well as blackball all politicians who support Billery.

I think is just another act in the Clinton Psychodrama show/circus. I hope it's true, but I seriously doubt it.

I heard that her staff intervened to get members of Congress to call her up and tell her to get out. Wow. That's pretty bad -- when those closest to you realize that you need help to see reality.
