Snub

On the same day that a CBS News poll found that 64 percent of Americans think Sen. John McCain is the same or even more conservative than President Bush, news has leaked that McCain will be "snubbing" Bush at an upcoming fundraiser.

"McCain will not attend President Bush's fundraising dinner for congressional candidates," The Hill reported, "in another indication that the GOP nominee is distancing himself from the man he wants to replace."

But a look at McCain's public schedule finds that the presumptive GOP nominee has no other public events scheduled for the day of the Bush event.

More from The Hill:

McCain's campaign did not comment but the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) confirmed that the Arizona senator will not attend the annual event, which will take place on June 18. A source familiar with McCain's schedule said he is expected to be in Texas on June 18.

"Maybe he found a better dinner?" Republican Study Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), chair of the event for the NRCC said. "When he's the president, he can attend lots of president's dinners."

Dear President Bush-

I am sorry that I can't attend your shindig. But people don't really like you right now ( I know I can't imagine why either), and people are starting to talk. I get those weird looks when I pass through the halls, and my friends are passing notes about us. So in the interest of keeping our lives uncomplicated, I have decided to go out with my wife instead of attending your thingy.

Please keep the KY warm for me.

John McCain.

If I recall correctly, tBush used the"You can run but, you can't hide" phrase referring to Bin Laden. It's been over 4 or 5 years and Bin Laden hasn't been found yet. Do you think that the majority of our "seeker's" we misdirected. He doesn't seem to be in Iraq. Where, oh where, is Bin Laden hiding? The "game" has gotten extremely costly...

George's atrocious table manners would also give me pause .. Perhaps this is the reason John will dine elsewhere....

McCain supports this war ...STILL this after the new senate report. McCain is just Bush part 2. If HE wins we're all screwed. By the way the only media outlets that have talked about this new Senate Report are MSNBC (Keith Olberman) and Huffington Post. Is there a media black out? Do we still live in the US of A alleged land of the free?????

PS Keep up the good work Keith.

Did you know that John McCain is fully disabled and gets a pension for being fully disabled? Did you know John McCain gets Social Security payments? Just like campaign finance reform John McCain cheats the system.

From now on people, when ever you want to refer to McCain, please make sure you use 'John W. Bush McCain.'

Ex: We cannot support John W. Bush McCain because he is advocating the failed policies of Dick Cheney.

Ex: John W. Bush McCain refuses to support a recent G.I. bill in congress, citing "it gives too much benefits to our veterans."

Ex: America cannot entrust a currently unstable U.S. economy to John W. Bush McCain who is on record saying, he does not understand the economy.

Please, spread the word about John W. Bush McCain.

America cannot afford John W. Bush McCain--not in treasure and definitely not in blood.

2009 - No Country for Old Men!

It is OUR turn to take this country out of the tired old politics of the 20th Century.

I wonder if you will ever understand how many American voters are offended by your attitude. Judging from the many derogatory and gratuitously defammatory comments made by Obama supporters on Huffington Post, I can understand why some of Clinton's supporters would feel that there has been a line drawn in the sand and even if they crossed it, they would not find themselves welcomed into Obama territory. And thus, they will turn to McCain.

For those of you who have participated in trying to demonize Hillary Clinton and John McCain, not only as politicians, but as a subspecies of humanity--this is on your heads. Part of the reason for the alienation of working class and older voters is rooted in your exclusionary attitude and lack of respect. An attitude which, it is now obvious, Mr. Obama does not share, as he and Mrs. Clinton will now work together to assure that a Democratic candidate takes the White House.

And don't kid yourselves--you DO need these voters to win. With over 30 years of experience in the Congress and Senate, and a well-earned reputation for being a straight shooter and artful compromise maker, McCain is not going to be a pushover--even for a shining young star like Obama. How much better it would be if young and old, rich and poor, could join hands in creating a just and equitable American government.

I appreciate your comment, as it seems genuine and well thought out. But just to be fair I think its worth noting that this is the unofficial "snakebed" of Obama supporters so the razzing is particularly harsh here. Trust me over at other blogs like Politico I have been dogpiled several times by McCain and Clinton supporters a like. This has been a nasty primary and all 3 sides are guilty of being nasty.

Since you are a Clinton supporter, you are particularly sensitive to criticism of her, likewise I for Obama. You probably feel like he hasn't been smeared as much as her, and that people have treated her unfairly. From my point of view, Obama has been treated just as unfair, if not more (he is constantly described as inexperienced, while John Edwards wasn't - is that because he is black? who knows). He is also constantly called a muslim, a racist, a misogynist, etc by Clinton supporters. People discount his success, say we drink Kool-Aid, etc.

Well what I'm trying to say is, we all have bruised feelings. Its just amplified for you because your candidate is now ready to concede.

We appreciate the ideas and fearlessness of the youth that have been so essential in affecting change. We all were young at one time. We all grow old.

In the forefront of every great movement that has ever occurred in this country, the youth were there giving their time, energy, talents and sometimes even their life.

While youth fades with age as will yours GenXIII, we know what you mean and we are very proud of the good work performed by young people everywhere. Thank you for getting involved.

There will however,be a private, "no-photos-allowed" meeting between the monkey and McNixon. McNixon will give the monkey a hand job, and the monkey will then give the McNixon a nice big fat check from the oil lobby.

Old Man yells at women, because she is trying to pass a bill that will help her find out where her brother is, for the brother was a POW in vet war. and at that time they sold POW's to other countries.
