Shania Twain Breaks Silence: I Need To Heal My "Broken Heart"

Country superstar Shania Twain has broken her silence following her split with husband and producer Mutt Lange, which may have been caused by Twain's friend.

In a message on her website, Twain thanked fans and talked about her broken heart, one she plans to heal with music as her therapy. The message read in full:

To my beloved fans:

As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life. I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.

I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.

I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.

Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart.

I know Shania personally; she is a warm, loving person, full of life and generous to a fault. She forgives and forgets like no one I've ever known. She is deserving of respect and admiration, not the kind of immature hatefulness displayed here.

There is life after divorce, and there is joy after sadness - allow yourself enough time for the healing process to take full effect, resist the temptation to shorten the cycle by thinking that you should just simply "get your act together" or "pull yourself up by your bootstraps", those sentiments are born out of guilt and need to be summarily dismissed as false signals - I wish you well.
