WASHINGTON (AP) _ The actress who played Wonder Woman on TV in the 1970s says she didn't do anything extraordinary when she discovered a body this week on the Potomac River in Washington.

Lynda Carter tells The Washington Post she was alone in a boat when she saw the body Wednesday. She says she didn't have a cell phone with her, so she yelled to some fishermen and asked them to call police. Carter waited until rescuers arrived and directed them to the body.

District of Columbia police say the body of 47-year-old Helen Johnstone of Washington was found floating on the river Wednesday. The medical examiner's office has not declared an official cause of death.

Carter says she "did what anybody would have done."

How odd, the aging trophy wife of a Republican bigwig just happens to find a dead body in the river. That reminds me, has that blonde lobbyist who supposedly screwed John McCain ever ...um ...resurfaced?

I have to agree that this is just media hype. She did what she could within the means available. Hell, I'm 40ish and couldn't handle jumping into the potomac to fish out a body. She's fifty-six.

OR what is she supposed to do?

Spin around and a lightning flash reveals the Amazon Princess herself? Then she magically reshapes her tiara and attaches the Golden Lassso and does a little tiara boomerang hunting. Snags the body, and with her Amazonian strength, hauls the corpse to shore where she does and double spin and POOF, Linda Carter is back. Give her a break.

As to this recent Linda photo, wow, she still remains stunning. Yeah, she's had some work, but it's not extreme or obvious in the recent photos I've seen. Lovely woman.

When I read about a body found floating in the Potomac,
my first thought was, "Vicky Iseman!"

The Good-Citizen work by
Ms. Carter is commendable.

In Hartford, 911 received four calls within 60 seconds. You can't tell that from the video. Given the traffic and the nature of the hit and run, I think I would have been leary of going out in the street. I hope I would have tried to stop some cars to block traffic until the police arrived.
