Lindsey Graham

Senator John McCain has aggressively tried to distance himself from Bush in an effort to avoid being tagged by Democrats as running for Bush's third term. However, as Think Progress notes, McCain's chief surrogate, Senator Lindsey Graham, did not adhere to that message during his appearance on ABC's This Week, with George Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos asked Sen. Graham if McCain's tax and healthcare policies are essentially "an extension or maybe an enhancement of the Bush policies." Sen. Graham answered, "Yeah, absolutely."

When asked by Fix News yesterday about Ba(nextPres)rak's energy plan, Gov of VA responded: Well, at least he has one!

Loved that.

Whenever I see Lindsey Graham on television, I wonder to myself who would ever voluntarily be friends with someone like that. He's childish and whiny and does it all with a shit-eating grin on his face.

I think this shows that McCain is confused about the race he's trying to run. He's walking a tight rope to paint himself as a moderate maverick... If Obama is successful the reality will come out. he was different during the primary when he wanted to get elected. http://www.enewsreference.com

Let alone, who would vote for such a loser?

Preach Lindsey! Exxon/Mobil is struggling; "lower [their] corporate tax rate." Yeah that's the ticket.

Lyndsey Graham sounds a lot like Beverly Leslie, Karen Walker's archnemesis on Will & Grace.

"Karen Walker! I thought I smelled gin & regret."

I saw the interview and was floored by the admission. Is Lindsey off the reservation or has McCain waved the white flag and decided he can't run from Bush?

Either way, it serves as a self-inflicted wound to the old guy. They will need 3 mics for the debates.

Stay tuned.

Lind kept harping on "good and bad Americans". PLEASE tell me the R's are going to make this a theme. Most folks might agree that CEO's making tens of millions on the backs of the working class, and getting tens of millions of dollars for running company's into the ground, companies many of us have our pensions invested in . . . well they might BE "bad Americans."

I am not sure that the vast majority of us would call this the behavior of "good Americans." There was a time when corporations were supposed to behave as good citizens. I hop the R's try to tell us they still are. YEAH, vote for the guy who defends the rich folks!

Thank goodness these people are clueless.

Face it, the republicans don't really want to win in November.
When they look at the monstrous clean up job left in the wake of the single worst President in United States History, they realize they are not up to the task.

They're good at handing out War Time Tax Cuts to billionaires but when it comes time to pay the check, the republicans go AWOL.

That's great! Bush has, for the last 8 years, INTENTIONALLY brought the US to the brink of bankruptcy, in order to set the stage for the dismantlement of all the New Deal entitlements (Google "starve the beast" if you don't believe me); at Harvard Business School, Bush referred to the New Deal as "Socialism". Now John McCain and his "fairy godfather" Lindsay "Softshoes" Graham propose to finish the job. FOLKS: THE OTHER MAIN REASON THAT OIL IS $135 PER BARREL IS BECAUSE THE REST OF THE WORLD KNOWS WHAT WASHINGTON WON'T SAY: WE'RE B-A-N-K-R-U-P-T! INSTABILITY IN THE MIDDLE EAST - DUE PRIMARILY TO THE CHENEY INVASION OF IRAQ TO STEAL THEIR OIL - IS THE 1ST REASON. Remember these two reasons when McCain asks you to vote him in for 4 more years of the Bush disaster....

You are exactly right. Remember the price of Oil and all the other commodities have been increasing in price partly because the US Dollar (which has been the international reserve currency) has gone from one of the strongest currencies in the world when Clinton was in power to one of the weakest currencies in the world. It has roughly declined by 50%. This means that the current stratospheric price of oil would only be around $85 per barrel in terms of what the dollar was worth when Clinton left office. It is also a big reason why commodity prices have skyrocketed in terms of US dollars. International speculators, who would have put money into US Dollars are now putting their money into other currencies including Euros, Yen, the Chinese currency the Rembimbi and most significantly into commodities such as oil as a quasi substitute for currencies. So there is a direct link and correlation to the ruinous and disasterous policies of the Bush Administration and the Republican hocus pocus economic doctrine. So if America elects another Republican (especially one who admits that he doesn't understand the economy) it is guaranteed to see the value of the US dollar plummet and its standard of living continue to decline.
