Senator John McCain has aggressively tried to distance himself from Bush in an effort to avoid being tagged by Democrats as running for Bush's third term. However, as Think Progress notes, McCain's chief surrogate, Senator Lindsey Graham, did not adhere to that message during his appearance on ABC's This Week, with George Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos asked Sen. Graham if McCain's tax and healthcare policies are essentially "an extension or maybe an enhancement of the Bush policies." Sen. Graham answered, "Yeah, absolutely."

I liked where Kerry nailed graham on corporate taxes, "not the effective rate." I'd bet money George Steponthepopulus didn't follow up on that one.

He's the Mav-rigged Senator from Arizona.

Anyone who votes for McInsane and thinks he's for "change" is a delusional. He's for change alright, he wants the middle class and the poor to have only change left in their pockets while he slashes every government program.

He won't even vote to give veterans a decent college plan? He's for torture and the man was a victim of torture. He is truly insane.

If you're mad because Hillary didn't get it, please don't forget that it could be 1000% worse with this guy in the office. He doesn't have a damn clue.

I beg you, for our futures sake, even if you have to hold your nose PLEASE vote Obama.

Lindsay Graham's statements just fully support what James Louis Petigru said many years ago about South Carolina.

Quote; "South Carolina is too small for a republic, and too large to be an insane asylum."

One day I hope the people of S.C. vote that idiot out (Lindsey Graham) Hey all ,good news though, I was talking to my neighbor and his wife the other day and they are about as "blue collar" and "working class" as you can get, and they are both voting for Obama as well as my wife and I. There is hope for us South Carolinians after all!!

People who need to NOT vote for McCain aren't the corporate... they simply will... it is the poor and middle class who vote GOP because they don't want their taxes raised and are told (and believe) that the Dems programs are expensive and the current situation can only get worse with Dems..... don't expect these folks to connect the dots to better organization, regulations, fairness in taxes and services, end of the war even doesn't come into their thinking about the ironclad belief they have that dems programs sound good but are going to cost them and they can't afford more....... It is the Dems job to do a better job of convincing them they will have a better quality of life and more people will thrive with the enhanced programs..... along with less need for an exorbitant military presence and global dominance by force...... The message must be very simple... it must make clear that taxes will go up for some people, not them, and the overall effect of the new programs will be to lower costs in many of their expenses which offset any taxes.... I don't know how to say this simply... it always sounds complicated and I don't have much luck explaining it to my Applachian GOP friends who think a savings of $100.00 up front is relief and good governing w/o seeing what happens to their overall quality of life.

I saw the show and heard him say that and I said to myself: Could we have just received any better of campaign video slam against McCain...... especially coming from this "supporter", Senator Lindsey Graham?

When your opponent is digging hole for himself, don't stand in the way, but offer him a bigger shovel.

Thank You Senator Graham from South Carolina. You win the "Horses Patoot" award for the weekend political talking point circus.

ROFLMAO!

I long for a graphic listing five or six major issues. Then, next to each other, direct quotes from Bush and McCain outlining their position on each issue. No spin, just exactly what they have said on the record.

Across the bottom: the slogan "Four More Years" and that lovely picture of McCain hugging Bush.

Oh no, a sequel to "McCain on McCain"..........McSame seems to have a hard time remembering just what it was he said/did. Where is the neuropsych. testing??????? Methinks the gray matter is getting sclerotic.

They're toast and they know it! The people on the right have no idea how many in this country are hungry for change. When 80% of the people in the country think we're heading in the wrong direction and the repubs want to keep the same policies going, it's going to be a long five months for the Right.

Shocking! A Republican providing some candor.

I agree with the previous poster, this is perfect ammunition for Obama to use against him. His own chief surrogate saying his policies are "absolutely" an extension of Bush's!!

Lindsey Graham is the 3rd member of the Larry, Curly, and Moe tag team. He professes to know so much about the military. He was a JAG lawyer, and McCain was a pilot/POW. They have no idea what's in the hearts and minds of real soldiers. These three stooges (McCain, Lieberman, Graham) are foolish. Three little pint-sized irrelevant people. As Mary Matlin put it on FOX noise, "they all need to be respectful of Bush". She is also irrelevant. It is over for these murderers.

Oopsie, someone didn't get the memo. Nothing like playing to that 27% pro-Bush base.
