New York Examiner:

If you're going to fire someone, you want to make sure you do it in a place where the now-unemployed can't make a scene.

You know...a place like, say, a church. That, according to a new book - "Machiavelli's Shadow" - by former Time magazine reporter Paul Alexander, is where President George W. Bush informed trusted advisor Karl Rove in 2007 that his services would no longer be needed at the White House.

For what its worth - its been rumored that this was a move by the administration to have KR draw his own fire - considering they never believed they would have been this successful in delaying justice and keeping a lid on the cesspool they created at Justice.

I don't believe a single word of the story - even though it is the kind of baffling logic one might expect and the lack of dignity that has been dependable from the current White House.

I just had a post scrubbed, I know it was because it isn't here and the pending tab reads zero. Unless I am mistaken, this is my first scrub, and I am devastated. All I said---and this time I better abreviate--- was that I wonder if R carries a g.

So who told Alexander? Why would either man divulge this information to anyone?

Why he doesn't burst into flames only means one thing. There is no god. So WE will have to do this. Never relax and think this will be a cake walk- far from it. If you think we can breeze through this, we've lost already. Vote Democratic or Bush gets to chuckle with that arrogant smirk of his.

Honestly, i am really starting to believe Bush really IS the Anti-Christ! How in the world can anyone explain that this man got "elected" to be the President of the United States TWICE? And he does seem to have that Elmer Gantry vibe going in this one with Rove and in that "Come to Jesus" hug with McBomb back in 2000 was it?

Regarding Newt Gingrich and Ed Rollin's comments about Rove. Oh, please. Neither of them (and no Republican that I know of) ever criticized Rove while Rove employed his nasty political bag o' tricks to the advantage of Republicans. Now that the 75% of the public has either tired of the Republican brand, or caught on to the hype used to sell the brand, the long-knives are after Rove. Rove isn't to blame. Its just that there aren't that many eager customers for the smelly box of crapola that Rove packaged and distributed.

I was thinking the same thing. A soon as he engineers another Republican victory, they will all kiss his (ahem) ring again.

An interesting concept: firing your brain while attending church.

Is this like having a second baptism, or something?

I see the posts having some higher ideal for church. This seems typical of a church activity.

"Karl, You've got too much heat on you" ?????

Sounds like a mob boss, or some kind of criminal knowing he's been raking someone through the coals, and now it looks like it's all about to hit the fan...

Church also has the benefit of having holy water nearby, and priests handy in case the exorcism doesn't go too well.

W and Rove and Cheney have their own church. It was started by an old friend of theirs name Martin Looter.
