New York Examiner:

If you're going to fire someone, you want to make sure you do it in a place where the now-unemployed can't make a scene.

You know...a place like, say, a church. That, according to a new book - "Machiavelli's Shadow" - by former Time magazine reporter Paul Alexander, is where President George W. Bush informed trusted advisor Karl Rove in 2007 that his services would no longer be needed at the White House.

Scott McClellan reaffirmed his admiration for Bush in his book, while condemning the rest of his administration. Now this report of Bush firing Rove in church no less. Are we being exposed to a sophisticated white wash job? Bush's staff is responsible, not Bush.

Here comes the BS. The Republicans have only one way to win in November.

THEY ALL have to run against BUSH. (notice just today's list: Liz Cheney, Tom Tancredo, Ed Rollins, Newt Gingrich...)

By September's Republican National Convention, every campaign manager will be paying MICHAEL MOORE for dirt.

(heh, heh, I hope he over charges them)

Isn't it ironic (call Alanis) that Rove is an atheist? The evangelicals were used BIG TIME to elect this dunce from Texas...

From 2006, Olberman:

"According to Steve Benen, a damning new book by David Kuo -- former high-ranking official in Bush's Office of Faith-Based Initiatives -- reveals that Bush's plan for social betterment through the religious community "was a charade," and "a political ploy."

Kuo appears to be one pissed off evangelical. And no wonder:

"National Christian leaders received hugs and smiles in person and then were dismissed behind their backs and described as 'ridiculous,' 'out of control,' and just plain 'goofy,'" Kuo wrote. He added that Karl Rove called some of the nation's most prominent evangelical leaders "the nuts.""

"Karl Rove is moving on down the road," Bush said as the two appeared together for an emotional coda to their 14-year political partnership. A few moments later, he turned to Rove and added: "I'll be on the road behind you here in a little bit." Rove's voice quavered as he spoke, and the two hugged before flying off to Texas together for vacation.

One thing I noticed about Bush was that he sure vacationed a lot. Where did he find time to even fire Rove?

He did it while he was in church, while on vacation. So, it wasn't really an "official like" event, so that later when in his trail bush is asked, "did you do cowardly acts as President?"

He can say, well, not officially

It is so not surprising that chickenhawk Bush would be too scared to fire Rove somewhere he could respond.... what a wuss

"Every Republican I know looks at the Bush administration as a total failure," said Matt Towery, chairman of Newt Gingrich's political organization.

“To do what he did politically to us is unforgivable," Rep. Tom Tancredo told Alexander. "It will take generations to recover. I don't know how long; maybe never."

"I think the legacy is that Karl Rove will be a name that'll be used for a long, long time as an example of how not to do it," said long-time GOP strategist Ed Rollins.

Gee! Here's a surprise! I thought the Republicans thought he was the best thing since Jesus. Of course given that the Republicans are lying sacks of crap everything makes sense.

You may want to turn your attention to Abu Ghraib - a buck never stopped so short of the oval office.

In church? They are missing the point here. It is in church where Rove's evil vampiric powers are at their weakest. Bush was merely protecting himself.

Was going to ask if Cheney goes to church, but now the answer seems obvious.

I thought Karl Rove was a Mormon. What the hell is he doing in an Episcopal church?

May be, at the church, Jesus Christ whispered to Bush to fire Rove.

Pretty ironic, as rap master Rove is (supposedly)
an atheist; for some of us, his only redeeming trait.

So if that is the case, i.e. Rove ruining the Repukelican party, then why is he now on the network news giving his commentary...this guy is a leper & should be paraded around with a huge "scarlet" bling chain around his neck with the letter "K"...which stands for killer...killer of America's reputation around the world...killer for the hundred of thousands of Iraqis killed...killer for the 4,000+ US soldiers killed in Iraq...
