Gina Gershon Breaks Silence On Vanity Fair's Link To Bill Clinton: "A Crazy, Outrageous Lie" (VIDEO)

Gina Gershon broke her silence and spoke out about the Vanity Fair article that linked her to Bill Clinton. Promoting her Broadway play "Boeing Boeing," Gershon appeared on Monday's "Live with Regis and Kelly." With Mario Lopez in for Regis, Gershon told the hosts her side of the story.

"It is such a crazy, outrageous lie that has nothing to do with me... Journalists, it's so scary, because they get these rumors, hearsay, put it in the story, and it goes around the world in a minute... Vanity Fair never even did fact checking.... These irresponsible journalists - they're not accountable for anything."

Through her lawyers, Gershon asked Vanity Fair for a retraction and correction last week, a request Vanity Fair denied.

I am not sure if Gina is really complaining about the VF article or just seizing the moment to gain fame out of it. I mean ok she denied it and did the letter thing, the lawyers thing with VF and all that, but now it seems she's just wants to keep the story alive and is out on a media self-promotion tour, and I guess it works. I for once didn't know who she was until this story broke.

It matters because the methods of the Star and National Enquirer, where nameless "close friends" and gossip are substituted for on-the-record reporting and criticism. I'm no fan of Hillary's but it saddens me to see such gossip passed on as reportage and a fine actress slimed because it's hard for famous people to sue over slander.

For all you people who say she protests too much, what's a person supposed to do if it really isn't true? While I'm sure Clinton's aides did become alarmed by the posse he's running with and maybe even spoke to him, it's horseshit for a journalist to merely repeat gossip and name this actress. So that's the standard now? People were saying this, so I'm just repeating what they are whispering? Wow, we've come a long way from the Deep Throat days when every fact had to have at least two verified on the record named sources before it was printed. Even Deep Throat's tips were verified by outside sources.

What’s the big deal about the Vanity fair article stating “…or at more recent high-end Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California.”? I can see why Vanity Fair refuses to retract.

I liked her better in the movie “Bound” where she plays a really hot looking hard-boiled bisexual who seduces a mobster mistress played by Jennifer Tilly. Gina and Jennifer get it on in an orgasmic convulsion sex scene.
