Kucinich

WASHINGTON — Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a former Democratic presidential contender, said Monday he wants the House to consider a resolution to impeach President Bush.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi consistently has said impeachment was "off the table."

Kucinich, D-Ohio, read his proposed impeachment language in a floor speech. He contended Bush deceived the nation and violated his oath of office in leading the country into the Iraq war.

Kucinich introduced a resolution last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. That resolution was killed, but only after Republicans initially voted in favor of taking up the measure to force a debate.

Kucinich won 50 percent of the vote in a five-way House Democratic primary in March, beating back critics who said he ignored business at home to travel the country in his quest to be president.

San Francisco,

I don't care who you marry. I don't care how much pot you smoke or how many flower arrangements you display at the town hall. Really I don't care. I'm not being sarcastic here, live and let live but please oh please don't send that awful woman Pelosi back to Washington. She is an embarrassment to you and a national disgrace.

The facts needed to prove criminal conduct have been established in the Senate Phase II report. Scott McClellan's book corroborates the Phase II findings. McClellan is going to testify on June 20th. This should lead to more names, dates and details of additional criminal activity.

We are in a Constitutional crisis that is testing the limits of our Democracy. Congress and the DOJ are failing to operate as intended. As a result, no one is to blame for crimes we know were committed while more US soldiers and Iraqis are dying every day in a war that has turned out to be based on lies.

The Right and Left have been busy poking each other in the eyeballs like a scene from a Three Stooges flick while the printing presses have been minting cash at full speed to be shipped over seas to fight an illegal war. Wages are lower and energy and and food prices are skyrocketing.

Surly there are enough of us on both sides who understand that something must be done to stop the implosion of rule of law. This has simply gone too far.

The ultimate insult to ordinary Americans is that we are being forced to fight for and fund freedom and democracy for the Iraqis while we lose both in the process.

This is no way to honor the memories of all those who fought and died so that this would not happen.

The die-hard Dems got their appeasement with their current nominee. They can go to sleep now. I wonder if Kucinich could get elected as an independent. Probably not. This should be an indication of just how powerless the people really are.

What about a referendum on the topic for it is not one persons decision to not impeach, or even a party's but in the better interest of the Nation - ask the people!

It all boils down to the fact that we have elected to Congress too many members with no or low scruples and principles. IOWs, our House Of Representatives (and probably the Senate too) is riddled with elected officials of low moral character (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!)! IMO, we SHOULD expose and identify these creeps so we CAN replace them in the upcoming elections. The other solution to this stagnate political cesspool appears to be that in order to gather enough legal proof to justify an impeachment, we must -- since The House has no real arm of enforcement -- re-vitalize the Office Of Special Prosecutor -- due to the fact that our current Attorney General is controlled by Bush and voluntarily impotent. Once we re-create this position (Which was mistakenly abandoned by the Democrats after the last impeachment.) and mandate that that person of high moral character (Patrick Fitzgerald?) is to collect proof of impeachable acts ("high crimes and misdemeanors"), then the House Judiciary Committee could present it to the rest of The House for a vote.

Oh, to just make it so ...

In following up on the ramifications of Dennis Kucinich's historic Articles To Impeach Bush, I listened to Jonathan Turley's http://jonathanturley.org//) explanation of WHY The House is not responding, supporting or even debating the concept of impeaching the President. He contends that there are two reasons --

First and foremost many, if not most, of the Democrats in The House were, at one time or another, briefed on sensitive areas -- like torture, 911, Iraq, election fraud, etc. -- and since they didn't individually or collectively stand up and take contrarian positions at the time, they (these various members of The House) feel that they would be "embarrassed" as well as perhaps legally and politically liable, should these issues come up in impeachment proceedings. Secondly, if the fallibility and possible culpability of these House members were to be exposed, then during the upcoming elections the Neocons could, and most probably would, use this information to their advantage in order to massively maintain or unseat vulnerable seats around the country.

I heard him talk about why this won't go any where, but it's still a crying shame.

In case anyone is wondering why Nancy Pelosi has taken impeachment off the table, constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley has surmised it's because Nancy was one of the few Democrats who were informed about the torture and warrantless wiretapping going on when Democrat

If she brings impeachment to the table, her own complicity in the Bush administration's wrongdoing would be revealed. Ironically, by not pursuing impeachment, her own complicity in the Bush administration's wrongdoing is being revealed.

Any and every Congressmen, regardless of party, that does not vote to defend our Nation by Impeachment of this criminal, is as guilty as those who direct the continued atrocities in our name.
Any elected or appointed official that fails in their duty, within their ability to pursue this crew to the full extent of the law, shares in the blood of all those sacrificed for the continued profits. They will be known for all time as fellow profiteers and looked upon with scorn by all good people around the world.
True leadership is service to those we serve, not to ones own agenda and treasure. We The People will hold accountable ALL who failed to defend our Constitution, our Servicemen and women, our Nation, Our Values. FAIL NOT!
