Kucinich

WASHINGTON — Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a former Democratic presidential contender, said Monday he wants the House to consider a resolution to impeach President Bush.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi consistently has said impeachment was "off the table."

Kucinich, D-Ohio, read his proposed impeachment language in a floor speech. He contended Bush deceived the nation and violated his oath of office in leading the country into the Iraq war.

Kucinich introduced a resolution last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. That resolution was killed, but only after Republicans initially voted in favor of taking up the measure to force a debate.

Kucinich won 50 percent of the vote in a five-way House Democratic primary in March, beating back critics who said he ignored business at home to travel the country in his quest to be president.

Impeach and imprison!

If only the Democrat-led leadership in Congress had the guts to impeach this criminal president, they would find that not only would they have the support and backing of a majority of the American public, but also the rest of the world, and likely guaranteeing a Democrat win in November for the White House.

The strength of America has always relied on the foundations set forth in its laws and Constitution. To ignore those cherished laws now in the republic's time of need, is a crime in itself, and indeed possibly a greater one.

Bush has destroyed America's image abroad. He has committed horrible crimes. If America does not punish him when the evidence is there for the WHOLE WORLD to see, then I am afraid the US will no longer have any credibility or any moral high ground. The regime can change to Obama or McCain and it may seem like a fresh new start for America but reality does not work this way. America will appear as a rogue nation, a failed state where law changes to accommodate Imperial aims. The international community will not forget. The world will not forget. For sins to be forgiven, the guilty must pay.

A day late and a dollar short.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people with D's after their names who are owned by people who support the reckless and destructive policies of this outfit.

impeachment for booosh and che ney are long past due.

most of the house of representatives is afraid for their political careers, and don't seem to understand that their political careers will forever be stained for being too cowardly to uphold the laws of our land.

the tool of impeachment is a valuable one, and the founders put it in place for a reason. the neocon strategy of cheapening the process and and thinking that the country would not stand for another set of impeachment proceedings so close on the heels of the last so far seems to be working.

pressuring our congresspeople to grow a spine and do the right thing is the only way the neocons in power will ever see what should be but the first step towards bringing them to justice. considering that his "approval" ratings are down around 25%, I seriously doubt that too many members of the electorate will disagree with justice finally being done.

thank god for kuc i nich and w&x ler. there is still time.

This is a BullS**T story - same exact story that's being spread all over, is it an AP story? - plus it's inaccurate:
Kucinich's resolution to impeach Dick Cheney was not "killed." It was referred to the House Judiciary, where it could be moved forward at any time. (except Conyers et al continue to hold it).

Also - go back and look into the archives of newspapers all over and you will find a mountain of articles about the Clinton impeachment - long and lengthy articles, discussions, shows etc were in or on every newspaper, tv station, magazine - you name it - it was Clinton impeachment all the time all the channels everywhere and the charges? Perjury and obstruction of justice related to lying about illicit sex. - and all Bush gets is this tiny 'mention'? For murderous, heinous, treasonous, and bloody crimes?

Really? That's all we get - this one tiny pathetic paragraph?
And people think we still got a free press? PUHLEESE.

Former President Ford set a terrible president by not allowing the law to carry forward with criminal prosecutions against Nixon.

Nothing should stop the consitutional process. If our leaders do not uphold their oath of office then they should be held accountable.

Thank you Kucinich and Wexler for your support of impeachment. You are the true patriots.

Pelosi you are a coward, and guilty of dereliction of duty. How can you give these criminals carte blanch? It's unfathomable. The founding fathers are rolling over in their graves.

I am so mad at the Democratic Majority, in this the 110th Congress. for not standing up to this criminally corrupt President and his administration. So far the only two democrat in the House with any sense of moral and legal outrage are Representatives Kucinish and Wexler. What does is take for this president to be impeached? Does he have to commit murder on the steps of Capital Hill in front of witnesses? When will they say that enough is enough? At what point do the House Democrats forget their political ambitions and remember their oaths of office. This President has stood up in front of the American People and the American and foreign press and admitted to breaking American laws and foreign treaties signed by past American Presidents. That is an impeachable offense. He has ended the writ of Habeas Corpus without either legislation or an amendment to the Constitution of the US. The Constitution of the US, Article One, section nine is as follows “The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public safety may require it.”. We are not in rebellion against this government and we have not been invaded. Article four and article 14 of the amendments to the US Constitution has been either severely restricted or rescinded. again without either legislation, which is not possible because the Constitution may be changed only through the amendment process and that ain’t likely.

This man is right, he has been right for a long time, and everyone just ignores him. The Democrats should have impeached Bush in 2004. That was what the voters wanted, but Pelosi said it was "off the table". Whose table? All the people "at the table" have sworn to uphold the Constitution, and they aren't doing it. How can you uphold the Constition without impeaching Bush and Cheney?

"The table" is supposed to belong to the American people, not to the people who are serving themselves instead of the citizens who elected them.

Thank you Mr. Kucinich. I wish there were more like you in congress. Instead, we have cowards who are more interested in securing their future than fight for the common man or justice. If it did not take so much money to compete we will see more congresspersons like Mr. Kucinich. We can do that by banning political advertising on TV. The thirty second spots on TV are tailor made to sway the public opinion using scare tactics.

I'm afraid it's much more than the 30 second spots on TV. Have you watched the news lately?
