Kucinich

WASHINGTON — Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a former Democratic presidential contender, said Monday he wants the House to consider a resolution to impeach President Bush.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi consistently has said impeachment was "off the table."

Kucinich, D-Ohio, read his proposed impeachment language in a floor speech. He contended Bush deceived the nation and violated his oath of office in leading the country into the Iraq war.

Kucinich introduced a resolution last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. That resolution was killed, but only after Republicans initially voted in favor of taking up the measure to force a debate.

Kucinich won 50 percent of the vote in a five-way House Democratic primary in March, beating back critics who said he ignored business at home to travel the country in his quest to be president.

I hope this makes Americans see how muuch we're being lied to. Barack wants nothing to do with it. That's one of the reasons I preferred kucinich as President. He is the only true patriot I've ever seen "on the hill".

Why have we allowed Pelosi to keep impeacment off the table? She needs to be replaced immediately.

You are right!! Sean Hannity played the Rev Wright clip for weeks and weeks. Why isn't the media all over this? What are they afraid of? This is huge news, what a pity that this administration will slide right out of office, and enjoy their oil riches from this endless war.

I sat through the 35 articles of impeachment last night.

Thought perhaps I was the only person in the world listening to
the great patriot Kucinich.

I can't for the life of me understand why congress cannot take a vote on impeachment
and swiftly dispatch Mr Bush away from the Oval Office?

The Bush/Cheney gang has everybody scared to death -- and I mean that literally. I'm sure whoever votes for it will suddenly vanish or something. I won't even go there. But people are scared for their lives. And that turns people into COWARDS. That's how the dems are acting now, like a bunch of sissies. I hate it!

Never mind we can flood the House with our phone calls.

Your Congressman, Pelosi, Conyers and of course Kucinich are the ones to call.

I think something may come of it -- I just read a piece about Bush feeling contrite/regretful. He is starting his P.R. campaign.

I noticed that too.

Overnight, Bush becomes really really sorry, and Laura plays up to the new First Lady.

These people are hollow shells.

Tillman received three bullets in the head by Friendly Fire?
That could never happen statistically by friendly fire; not three bullets in the head after one bullet in the chest?
Tillman had something to expose to the American public when he was scheduled to return to the states in a few weeks.

Assassination is the appropriate word. But Why is the question to be answered and what general ordered it? And by whose authority?

When the Repubs brought up impeachment proceedings against Clinton, I said that this was done by people who loved their party more than they loved their country. It was a purely political move done for political gain. There are those, including Pelosi, who think that if the Democrats would do the same to Bush it would read as being politically motivated. But Kucinich (who loves his country more than his party) knows that the best way to show how much he loves America is to criminally prosecute those who seek to destroy it and that which we base our existence upon (the law of our land, the Constitution). If Bush, Cheney, et al can walk away from this administration unscathed for their purposeful abuse and neglect of the Constitution we would be telling future leaders that those who love their party (and the special interests that prop up their party) more than their country can continue to erode the rule of law to fit their needs. When the Democratic leadership learns that the goal of of the Republican leadership is to not simply devalue Democratic influence but to irradicate it all together maybe then they will start to take seriously the deep threat that continuing to allow the Republicans to set the agenda through fear and intimidation (ie. fascist tactics) and, perhaps then, the Democrats will take a cue from one of their bravest, Kucinich, and do what needs to be done to expose the Republicans for what they are.

Politically notivated. Bush and his whackers are CROOKS and should be in jail with other criminals. I don't care about any political moves or whatever. Crooks should go to jail and that's it. If we allow them to go free, why not just let all the criminals out of jail to go free. You might as well. Most in jail right now haven't done anything as horrible as this group of murderers. My God, how do we with good conscious allow this to happen in America?

What is wrong with us? If we don't stand up for justice, what the heck will we stand up for?

I agree that, unlike the Ken Starr investigations (which were entirely politically motivated) that the case for impeachment now is entirely about UPHOLDING THE LAW of the land. But Pelosi (who sees here role as matron of the party and not so much keeper of the law) cares more about public perception than her constituional duty. I have no doubt that the charges that Kucinich has pinpointed, at the very least, are worthy of congressional and public scrutiny. But the Democrats think that they get more leverage by keeping Bush in power (with his low approval ratings) than they will by taking the chance to prosecute him and, potentially, turning him into a victim of partisanship. I think that Pelosi and her compadres in the Democratic leadership are wrong in that assessment. It can only help their case to show to the American public that neo-conservative philosophy is rife with designs of imperialist enterprise that uphold special interest needs while holding very little regard for the Constitutionality of their pursuits. The more that they can make that case and the louder they can reveal that message, the better. But not merely for the sake of winning in November but for allowing the ultimate winner to be the Constitution by not giving way to those who choose to wipe their feet upon it.

35 Articles of Ipeachment of George W. Bush is music to my ears.

And not one mention of it in the Philadelphia Inquirer today (my home paper).

Shame on them and the rest of the MSM and Democratic party for not upholding our Constitution.

Pelosi took impeachment off the table because she is also guilty of impeachable offenses. She made a deal with Bush.

"Makes you wonder why she took impeachment off the table"

EVERY DAY! Why? I don't get it. Something is holding her back, because it don't make any sense. The opposition leader doesn't give the 'decider' a get-out-of-jail card unless... Unless... Why?!?

I will never forgive the Democrats for being cowards on this impeachment issue. I will not vote for anyone of them who does not vote for the impeachment. They deserve to lose their jobs.

This is finally our chance to get the Bush/Cheney criminals behind bars and we are going to blow it because of the dems cowardly behavior. I wish the people could vote on the impeachment instead because we would.

You go Kucinich. You should have been Obama's VP.

We can still prosecute on war crimes... and I think that when BHO is in office and he gets his law watchdogs scouring every single Bush mandatet... that the prosecution will not be far behind.... wouldn't you rather have them convicted in that court than being impeached where they pretty much get off scott free? I want some jail time......

Prosecuting for war crimes after the fact is the coward's way. He should have been prevented from committing many of these crimes in the first place. Besides being incompetent, he's lied us into a war, watched as it's leader was executed, had a hand in outing a CIA agent and about 35 other horrible things. I want to know the real reason Pelosi took impeachment off the table.

There would seem to be enough evidence on the Valerie Plame incident and/or the Iraq war "evidence" before our invasion to merit impeachments hearings against Cheney and perhaps Bush.

The question is - why would anyone expect the Washington Democratic leadership to grow a backbone on this issue when they've been so completely spineless on everything else.

The Dems have every reason to go after this very lame duck, but better that they use any "gumption" they may find against the Iraq war first.
