Mccain Speech

Washington Post:

It might have taken Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) a while to figure out how to deal with hecklers, but he seems to have nearly mastered it at this point.

Just minutes after the presumptive GOP nominee began speaking at the National Federation of Independent Business and eBay 2008 National Small Business Summit today here in the District, a protester stood up in the audience and began screaming "War is bad for small business!" As security officers hauled the woman away, McCain started riffing on how the incident highlighted the need for a more civil political debate this year.

"One of the things Americans are tired of, one of the things they're tired of is people yelling at each other in America, have you noticed that?" he said, to loud applause. "They want us to respect each other's opinions.... Americans want a dialogue."

"They want us to respect each other's opinions.... Americans want a dialogue."

McCain is right, after the shameful displays of Obamabots, over and over again during the campaign, far worse than any behavior on the part of anyone in Clinton camp, it is time for people to learn that shouting gets us nowhere...

One guy protesting is easy to overcome. I would be impressed if McCain could handle 10 or 20 protesters in the room or more like what occurred in the 60s. Out smarting one guy whom security is dragging away is not something of special note.

Anti war activists need to learn to clench their teeth and giggle nervously when they are angry rather than shouting.

The best dialoque is when the facts are kept straight! When you know that Iran is not training Al Queda because they are enemies! Dialoque is to know you can't walk the streets in Iraq with out body armor, and Genenral Patraouse does not! mccain can't keep any of this straight in his brain and needs Joe lieberman near by to keep his mind on track, and correct his spoken mistakes. So yes we do want diaque, but we'd like it to be accurate material that he sprouts out of his mouth. It's really scary to think this man who can't keep war material straight in his mind might be our President some day. Let's hope not!

Keep this in mind if McCain were to win he would have to bring back the draft so he can have all the wars he wants. The good thing about that all the little chickenhawks would have to go and fight or their kids would.

Consider this. If we had had the draft in 2003, a whole lot more folks would have been a whole lot more interested in the factual basis for military action against Iraq. The opposition would have been much more vocal.

"Americans want a dialogue."

In case any one missed, here's some of that special McCain-style of dialogue, albeit back and forth with himself, for the most part, since he can't seem to keep his own record straight in his mind.

I'm surprised Mr. McCain doesn't "vet" his crowds. Isn't that the Republican way? "And never is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudly all day."

They'd have to leave out anyone who isn't an old, white man. His audiences are small enough as it is, they probably have to drag people in off the street.

Senator McCain's humanity and his right to speak should never be questioned. His views on the economy are an important thing for informed voters to know. Let the public hear his Royalist views on giving more to the "have more than they could ever use in a thousand lifetimes" crowd while the nation sinks further and further into debt to China and Saudi Arabia. His views on the illegal, immoral war based on known lies doesn't deserve respect. It's illegal and immoral, what part of that deserves respect? Let him speak, let his obfuscation of facts be laid out for everyone to see. He shouldn't be shouted down. That gives too much credibility to his words. Fill the audiences with people to laugh at him. Laughter would be a far more effective tool, and more appropriate. Mocking Gore and Kerry got the Schoolyard bully and his gang elected twice.

Sen. McCain Rather Than Voting To Give Women Equal Pay was................................

NEW ORLEANS — Republican Sen. John McCain, campaigning through poverty-stricken cities and towns, said Wednesday he opposes a Senate bill that seeks equal pay for women because it would lead to more lawsuits.

Senate Republicans killed the bill Wednesday night on a 56-42 vote that denied the measure the 60 votes needed to advance it to full debate and a vote. Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., had delayed the vote to give McCain's Democratic rivals, Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, time to return to Washington to support the measure, which would make it easier for women to sue their employers for pay discrimination.

McCain skipped the vote to campaign in New Orleans.

"I am all in favor of pay equity for women, but this kind of legislation, as is typical of what's being proposed by my friends on the other side of the aisle, opens us up to lawsuits for all kinds of problems," the expected GOP presidential nominee told reporters. "This is government playing a much, much greater role in the business of a private enterprise system."

WIth this Record Against Women Getting Equal Pay Sen. McCain well........................

Sen. McCain Refused to go back to Washington on Thursday to Vote to give Women Rights For Equal Pay on the same jobs as MEN.

What sparked the Bill in Congress was a woman, Lilly Ledbetter who worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co, after 20 years found out that she was paid 40% less than the men on the same job. This means she will get significantly less then the men on the job in Social Security and Pension Benefits at retirement.

The bill sought to counteract a Supreme Court decision limiting how long workers can wait before suing for pay discrimination.

Voted against Equal Pay Law ; the right to give Women the same pay as men because and the President said it would cause Women to file Lawsuits. Funny they did not think if Employers would not discriminate in the pay scales there would not be a need to file a lawsuit. Sounds like Sen.McCain and the President expect Employers to keep paying women less for the same job.

I posted this in Entertainment, but cleary it is far from entertainment.
Which reminds me of something I read about McCain. Apparently he's going to send more troops into Iraq. This means he is getting ready for a draft. Do not vote for him. Please! Just give the soldiers there some more tanks and better organization, but leave our children alone! Please do not vote for this veteran of war. Do Not vote for John McCain. He is not lucky. He's been captured by the ememy before, so what makes anyone think he won't be again? How is he going to transform a country by continuing a war - requesting more troops in this timid and indignant time? Instead of ending it, he wants another entry into fighting. He needs to postpone this idea indefinitely, and turn back home if elected. He is trying to be this prophetic leader before he's even elected and IMO just over reacting to dangers. He seems way too tempermental to lead America and direct our intelligence.

If we're going to commit to a war, everyone's children should be at risk of a draft. It puts war into the perspective that it should have. Unimaginable horror. It shouldn't be the war nobody pays for. War has a price. Pay it or end the war.

If we ever have another Senate vote to approve a measure allowing a president go to war, all the able-bodied immediate family children and 2nd generation children of the entire executive branch, as well as all senators should be conscripted into the military for the honor of serving their country.

Maybe people are yellling now because for 7-1/2 years, anyone that tried to talk were shouted down, called unpatriotic, terrorist sympathizers and told they hated America.

If you think we're shouting at each other NOW, you don't remember the Viet Nam years, those were terrible, and we're getting there AGAIN, for the very same reasons. America was completely torn, over a terrible war in which Americans were getting killed, one side said it was critical and we HAD TO WIN, the other said it was useless and we HAD TO STOP. We have the luxury of hindsight to know which side was correct in Viet Nam - the world did NOT end, there was no Communist domino theory, it was a civil war in which we had no business. But 58,000 names are still on a wall in Washington, DC. Those 58,000 men and women should be with their grandchildren today. The same people who sold us the Viet Nam war are doing it again, and saying the very same things. So far, 4,094 names will go on some wall, do we really need another 50,000 before we say NO ?

The shouting, though certainly justified in 1968, did not get us out for another seven years, and much worse problems for us and the Vietnamese. The anger is equally justified now, but disrupting people when they are speaking is not only rude, but counterproductive. It didn't stop the war and bring us a liberal President to end it then, there is no indication that that can occur now...
