Carville Floats Gore As A VP Pick

The always colorful former Clinton aide James Carville said on CNN today that he thinks Barack Obama should choose former vice president Al Gore as his VP. He argued that Gore would be the right candidate for combating the biggest problem facing the nation: oil consumption.

Hey folks, I consider James Carville a straight-up knucklehead and a horse's ass during the campaigns. But he may be on to something concerning Al Gore as a VP for Obama...a point I made in a HuffPost news thread a few days ago.

I was thinking along the lines of Obama having very close talks with Al Gore, not only for the VP slot, but for making Al Gore the Nation's new "Energy Czar as well". With Gore's Nobel Prize and Academy Award accomplishments for his global warming crusades, and with the right political and budgeting structures in place, Gore could be instrumental in finally creating some strong energy policies with teeth and tangible accomplishments for our country.

In an Obama Administration, Gore would have direct oversight of all R&D for alternative energy sources and fuels, power generation (geo-thermal, wind, solar, and nuclear), energy exploration, "green" technological research, fuel efficient automotive, commercial and industrial transportation and such. Gore could have very broad budgetary and political powers, tap into the brightest minds in industry, research universities and the national labs and would answer directly to Obama and Congress only, not through "do nothing" committees to bicker and bog down the progression.

Well, I guess I can dream. Gore would likely not be interested. But if the pot is sweetened enough by Obama, who knows.

James Carville is a Clinton loyalist who is now assigned to stir up trouble among Democrats. The purpose here is to distract the VP search process by encouraging interest in drafting Gore, who will refuse. From their perspective, this will strengthen Hillary's last minute prospects. Anything Carville says and does, the bottom line is to benefit the Cointons at Obama's expense.

The Clintons' are already in revenge mode on Democrats who "betrayed" them. I won't trust anything Bill, Hillary, Carville or other Clinton surrogates have to say for the remainder of this campaign.

I think the real purpose is to push Obama in giving V. P. Gore a cabinet position such as energy Secretary. Do read in between the lines. V.P. Gore would not take this position again if offered and everyone knows it.

But ya gotta hand it to Carville,... he's a true democrat and more so, a patriot. The energy crisis in America is that important. He wasn't up there shilling for Hillary, he wants a better country.
