Al D'Amato is going from the Senate chamber to the judge's chamber.

D'Amato, the former US Senator from New York, will shoot a court show pilot for Twentieth Television called "Judge D'Amato."

A rep for D'Amato described the show as a "Judge Judy"-type court show, in which D'Amato, who'll wear a judge's robe, will preside over small-claims cases.

The half-hour syndicated show is set to be shot in LA, and would air in Fall 2009 if picked up as a series.

I remember D'Amato use to call in on The Howard Stern Show, and also played cards with Stern...this should be right up his alley...

I can't wait for Senator Pot-hole to become a TV Judge. One of the most boring Senators of the 29th century on TV...WHAT A SNORE FEST! We also called him Senator Squeak, because of his great voice and manner of speechifying.

Baaaawaaaaa I want Judge Larry from Florida although come to think of it D'Amato should be able to close each case quickly by identifying the guilty party as "One of His Own."

Please, as much as I hate Sen. D'Amato, please change the headline. He was a former Senator form New York, Congressman generaly refers to a Rep. Please fix.

Technically Huffington Post is correct. The Constitution of the United States of America has this as the opening of Article One "ARTICLE I.
SECTION 1. All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives." Congressmen has been used along with Representative for members of the House though as a more common title with used for members of the Senate.

Well well well. Good old Al D'Amato's hit the big time. Wait'll Dad finds out. He had no use at all for the man when he was a senator back in the '70s and '80s.

I'm sure he'll love to hear this news.

The worse you are, the more you get. Everything is upside down. D'Amato, a court TV judge. Why don't that give Senator Vitter a reality TV show?

Why isn't this arch-criminal serving life in prison?
