Finding the right green gift for Dad means picking items that fit who he is...or wants to be. Appeal to his sense of adventure this Father's Day and check our picks for outdoor gear. You don't need to take out a second mortgage for a $30,000 Aptera, even if it is the most futuristic-looking electric vehicle for sale. For an exciting way to get around, Ocean Kayak's Prowler 13 Angler Recycled Sit-on-Top kayak comes with rigging, seat back, storage areas and a hull built out of 100 percent recycled post-industrial plastic from the kayak production process ($899; www.oceankayak.com). He can drag his kayak to the beach, wearing Simple's Stop Global Warming Toepeeka ($65; www.simpleshoes.com) made from organic cotton and an outsole constructed from actual car tires. They even ship in a biodegradable bag.

Fascinating. Being a green father is an oxymoron. If you and your wife have two children, you have effectively doubled your carbon foot print. With the current world population, being a father is much worse than have a garage full of Hummers and burning old tires for heat. The only problem this planet has is too many people (at least 3 times too many) to sustain the ecosystem. If you are not controlling the population, nothing you do to reduce your carbon foot print makes a difference. You might prolong the devastation, but you don't prevent it. I have no children, this makes me exponentially greener than folks with children. Two kids = my carbon footprint is 50% of yours. Two kids, with two grandkids each = my carbon foot print 25% of yours. I get to drive a Hummer and feel good about it. You and your kids are just destroying the planet. The only problem is overpopulation and I get to say that it is not my fault.

Negative population growth or the cockroaches get the planet.

So your solution to global warming is to not to have any children.

Sorry, but I love my children and their footsteps....

Somebody has to be responsible for human activity. I guess it is me and not you. I am willing to forego offspring for the greater good, what are you doing?
