Why is this headline about Andrea Mitchell crying, no, MOURNING the loss of a dear friend and confidant? WTF is wrong with this picture.
it's so interesting for me to feel as sad as i do for someone whom i never met. i came in to politics this election season, starting back in February of 2007. i grew leaps and bounds intellectually by following this race, the players, the issues , the pundits. i didn't realize until right now what an important role Tim Russert played in my education. politics has become the interest of my life, and Tim was there to guide me through it. i will miss him, i can't believe he's gone, my prayers are with his family and all his friends around the world.
When I heard this news I was in total shock! I look forward to seeing Tim Russert every Sunday morning, I've been watching him since he began on Meet The Press. I have to admit church attendance depends on Tim's guests for the week. I'm devastated, I cried myself to sleep last night. I can't imagine who will replace him. He was so excited about the upcoming election, it just won't be the same without him.
I will pray for his son and wife, and Big Russ, they're pain must be enormous. My heart breaks for his family, his colleagues and the seekers of truth in this nation of inadequate journalist and reporters.
Peace be with you.
DITTO + 100
His vibes continue....
This was an authentic, truly heart-felt moment from Andrea. So much more meaningful than the crocodile tears that Pres. Bush sheds when he gives out medals to soldiers.
For many years I have enjoyed watching Tim Russets almost every Sunday. He loved life
and lived it to the fullest, he was a terrific journalist, a man of faith, a great father, a
scholarly person with the knowledge of law, and an All American. He was the most
informed and fair moderator as he hosted his two programs, The Tim Russet Show and
Meet The Press, he was tough and fair and cut strait down the middle and he embarrassed
and rightly so several politicians who know little about what they where getting in to. Meet
The Press will never be the same without him and the next host will have very big shoes
to fill, Tim will never be replaced.Littlemast known Big Russ outlives his son? This is horrible. So young and full of lust for life. He brought a lot of passion and drama to this political stuff. I'm really saddened by this news. heart attack symptom many people tragically ignore.
Tim was a giant of a journalist but humble. A person of his
stature and character did not come from nowhere, Big Russ
That's so beautiful Andrea thank you for sharing that with us. Today I haven't been able to stop the tears. Wow Tim will definitely be missed God bless and stay close with his family during this extremely difficult time.
He was always tough but fair and I will miss sharing my Sunday morning coffee with him. It was always obvious that he loved his work. I imagine that he did everything in life with the same passion. This is very sad.
I am so sad to hear about Tim Russert. I never cry but today I did. He was my Sunday morning breakfast partner since 1994. It's ironic because when I saw the headline about Tim the first person I thought about was Andrea Mitchell. I knew they had a close relationship and I heard the news about Tim in her reporting time slot, so to see her upset is disconcerting. Tim set the gold standard in political journalism and he will be truly missed, November won't be the same without him. Maybe from this loss, real journalism can begin again.
God bless the Russert family and everyone he touched at MSNBC. Thank you Tim, you left the world a little better than you found it!
I feel as though I've lost a member of my family.............The tears won't stop. My prayers go out to his wife , son Luke, Big Russ and the entire Russert family. Rest in peace.
I've never met Andrea Mitchell, but as a Philadelphian I've "known" her for a long time. This lady is as tough as nails and I sort of feel like we cried together for Tim Russert, and that helps me. I hope in a way it might help her.....
I love Andrea Mitchell. She gets it. VERY much so.
. . . LET IT BE . . .
And so the tears fall again.... how many more times today I wonder.
The irony that he died as he was taking Sunday's Meet the Press, two days before Father's Day ~ is a wry twist of faith.
I have an overwhelming sense of sadness, much like I would if a family member had died. As my husband said coming home this evening ~ now who can we trust?
