Olbermann Special Comment Mccain

Thursday night's "Countdown" brought, as promised, a Special Comment from Keith Olbermann on John McCain's comments that it doesn't matter when we bring the troops home from Iraq on the "Today" show.

Olbermann remained subdued and forlorn as he blasted the Republican nominee for previous statements on the impending success in Iraq and for the hypocrisy inherent in trumpeting his veteran status and yet callously remarking that it doesn't matter when American troops come home. Olbermann's running theme was providing "context" for McCain's "Today" show remarks, a counter to the McCain camp's claim that his remarks were taken out of context.

**WOW** - How can anyone still justifiably agree with the conductor of the "Double Talk Express". Everyday he flip-flops, it's like politics by Sybil. And now, even after the government confirmed what most SENSIBLE Americans had already known (not conspired) that we were essentially bamboozeled into a financial, moral bankrupting war he still wants to keep us there. The BUSH Administration, along with its surrogates and flunkies (McBush) will be judged by history and the world as the worst regime that TIME has witnessed.

As usual, Keith Olberman was singlularly eloquent and impassioned.

And, indeed, why shouldn't he be passionate about the death and destruction wrought by this Administration and by its lies.

I am speaking only for myself, but I must admit that the past seven years have been the most traumatic and difficult of my life. I've come to agree with such courageous persons like Dennis Kucinich, who calls for the impeachment of the President.

When the history of the period is written, I've no doubt that its consensus will be that President Bush was one of this country's worst Presidents. And anyone who continues his policies needs to be roundly criticized, as Keith Olberman has done.

From the attack in New York, to the terrible erosion and, in some cases, the outright destruction of civil liberties, to the lies that led this country to invading a country that caused no harm or that represented no threat to this country, to the destruction of that country, the killing of over 4,000 U.S. forces, the killing of thousands more of Iraqis, the displacement of millions of the latter and the likely invasion of Iran, clearly, Mr. Olberman's words could not be truer or more appropriately uttered.

I do admire his courage.

McBush is not getting enough scrutiny by the press. What happened to follow up questions like what do you mean it’s not important? What about the billions of our tax dollars that are being wasted over there, while the roads and bridges in this country are falling apart? What about the soldiers who are on their 4th, 5th, and 6th deployment? What about how this war is hurting our standing in the world? And so many more questions that are not being asked.

You're expecting that from Matt Lauer?

Matt Lauer's job is to make his audience feel good enough to receive the full message of whatever paid advertisement comes next.

Matt Lauer is filler. So is Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer.

Yes that will be shared by over 5 million people within the next six weeks and by 15 million by election time. It will make the difference for about 100,000 person to not vote for McCain.
