Keith Olbermann Blasts John McCain In Special Comment

Thursday night's "Countdown" brought, as promised, a Special Comment from Keith Olbermann on John McCain's comments that it doesn't matter when we bring the troops home from Iraq on the "Today" show.

Olbermann remained subdued and forlorn as he blasted the Republican nominee for previous statements on the impending success in Iraq and for the hypocrisy inherent in trumpeting his veteran status and yet callously remarking that it doesn't matter when American troops come home. Olbermann's running theme was providing "context" for McCain's "Today" show remarks, a counter to the McCain camp's claim that his remarks were taken out of context.

On American television we always here about "left wing media" but we never see any and the only thing that could be considered this would be Keith Olbermann. But if this is all, wow. Though we do not receive his programme here we are well aware of him via these clips and postings.

He is a true voice of the sane ... just when most of us living abroad had thought that all Americans had lost it. Finally a voice in the wilderness.

I can assure you of a couple of things. To most people who own a television, Olbermann is of no importance whatsoever, and that's if they have ever even heard of him. And, he isn't forcing anyone to face anything because he preaching to the choir.

it saddens me greatly to know that human life means so little to mccain and the bush administration. in addition to the needless deaths and permanent injuries of american soldiers resulting from this pre-emptive strike, countless innocent men, women & children of Iraq have also suffered enormous casualties and permanent injuries as well. what a truly misguided minion mccain is. i can only hope that our country does the right thing this election.

I'm a little worried about KO. As his ratings increase the corporate media is going to have a more difficult time disregarding his comments. As more of us listen to him telling the truth to power the more pressure there will be to rein him in. I am not sure why the MSM is allowing him to speak. As long as KO is making his special comments on MSNBC, there is a small shred of hope left for democracy. Keep it up KO, and sorry for the loss of your friend, TIm Russert.

What exactly is wrong with Keith's remarks? Did you not like his going over all of McCain's statements and putting them in context? You may be unhappy with his queries, with his commentary, but are the statements he made untrue? Intelligent people like to investigate facts. Where are yours?
