Olbermann Special Comment Mccain

Thursday night's "Countdown" brought, as promised, a Special Comment from Keith Olbermann on John McCain's comments that it doesn't matter when we bring the troops home from Iraq on the "Today" show.

Olbermann remained subdued and forlorn as he blasted the Republican nominee for previous statements on the impending success in Iraq and for the hypocrisy inherent in trumpeting his veteran status and yet callously remarking that it doesn't matter when American troops come home. Olbermann's running theme was providing "context" for McCain's "Today" show remarks, a counter to the McCain camp's claim that his remarks were taken out of context.

Keith Oberman, is the best! He beats out all the rest. He's honest, and he does not mix the facts. Listening to Keith Oberman stating McCain positions across the years with respect to this war was absolutely refreshing. The Main Stream Media/Print (CNN, MSNBC (except for Keith Oberman), and FOX NEWS. ABC, NBC, CBS, New York Times, AP etc.,) is not going to bring out the different positions McCain hold. And we need not ask ourselves why Main Stream Media/Print protects McCain. It’s apparent; Main Stream Media/Print do not want Obama as president of the United States. So it doesn’t matter when our troops come home from Iraq; it doesn't matter if our troops are in Iraq for 100 years; it doesn’t matter when McCain says, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran; it doesn’t matter if the economy goes to hell in a hand basket, what matters to Main Stream Media is a black man, Senator Obama becoming President of the United States. Bottom Line America.... Main Stream Media/Print says; America can go to hell in a hand basket!

These rants of Olbermann are hard to take, but nothing compared to what our soldiers are suffering with... let him speak and remind us of the atrocities of governing without an american conscious... and let us demand that consciousness of humanity and freedom as we are a democracy. Our voice must not only be heard, but be informed and accountable for the direction of this great country... and let it be through balancing fairly what is heard, without racism, fear, priviledge or hatred... because these human failings will vote in the wrong man... Please: keep listening, keep asking questions.

Whenever I see KO do one fo these I say "damn straight" he's right. And then I think, "I've heard this all before and I never do anything about it. We never do anything about it"

America, we have to elect someone who is going to stop this nonsensical way of treating America's troops and destroying our image.

There's really only one choice for us in November if we are going to turn this ship around folks. Make sure you get out to vote. And make sure you tell your friends and family to get out and vote. This one really counts my friends.

McCains shifty rhetoric really represents the Republican's overall shiftyness about what Iraq was about.

What that really uncovers is that McCains story that he was some sort of maverick on the war is bogus. He was in fact a ready parrot of the neocon line.

Right on Keith, speak your mind. You have America's attention so use it to your advantage for the greater good. KO dropped the fact list on John and he's not passing the integrity test. McCain will be his own undoing...his principals are soft and its showing. He will say and do anything at this point to try and get elected. Even if it means dropping all his prior beliefs.

I hope that the DNC, the Obama campaign and the 527's were paying attention to the McCain clips and what he said about the war in Iraq. Everytime McCain claims that Obama is clueless and uninformed about the ways of "war" they use these quotes made by McCain to fight back. McCain claims to know all because he is a war hero but as you can tell from the quotes he was off the mark all the time.

Now I might be clueless myself on McCain accomplishments in the Senate, so what has he really done in the Senate. What REAL accomplishments does he have? I am asking because I really don't know. All he talks about is being a veteran and that he doesn't know much about the economy... Well how is that going to help this country? I mean turn on the news around the country and people are falling on hard times. Staying in Iraq for 100 years is not going to help the US economy.

Lobbyist, where is Vickii Iseman? How can a white blonde female disappear off the face of the earth with a possibly special - close relationship with the republican presidential nominee? Where is Nancy Grace when we need her? This relationship needs vetting? Where is the media on this one?

This was a much more cogently delivered and less melodramatic special comment and made a lot of sense. Much better than his anti-Hillary stuff in terms of maintaining an argument that might be seriously considered as something beyond personal outrage and bias. I like Keith a lot and agree with him a lot as well, but he serves everyone's interests best with this less rabid type of delivery.

Keith you are my future husband - you just don't know it yet. Thank you once again for your words against Mr. McCain. I, like Rachel Maddow, become so frustrated by the MSM's kid-glove treatment of McCain. What does matter is that America see what a disingenuous and souless shell this straw man is. He has no plans for our country, no grasp of the issues and his feet are planted on both sides of the fence. I am desperate to hear ISSUES and these are issues that MUST be raised.

Thank you for being you Mr. Olberman. Call me!!!
