russert made politics interesting. as a political scientist i am very picky about who i watch analyze politics and russert was the only one I watched.
My faith (Mormon) believes that we will be reunited with our families after we pass away. that is my comfort at this time that his family will be reunited someday and that Tim is there now with his .
The Seattle NBC station carries MTP at 6:00 a.m. You have to have a very special reason to get up just after 5:30 on a Sunday (to get the coffee brewed in time). Knowing that Tim Russert was preparing the first draft of some piece of history was my reason. I don't know what I'm going to do now. Sympathy to Tim's wife and son, but especially to Big Russ.
He was a good man.
How awful. His personality really came through watching him on television. I truly liked the guy. Based on the commentary I've heard today from those who knew him well, he was, indeed, a special guy. He'll be sorely missed.
My condolences to his family and friends.
"He'll be missed, as he was loved - greatly"
Brokaw's voice was so genuine and it's plain to see that everyone at MSNBC is completely shaken by this. It gives the impression that he was beloved and respected by all of his colleagues ... I've seen a number of them choke up today.
I didn't always agree with him politically but I feel the loss as I watch the great pain and grief he's left behind.
I am deeply saddend and shocked. My heart aches for his immediate family and his NBC family. I knew I could always count on Tim to keep it real every Sunday morning. He will be greatly missed. Unlike most of these guys who where their affiliations on their sleeves, he walked a line so fine and so eloquently that I truly think he believed in the truth and nothing more. I think America owes him great thanks for his follow-up question in the debate where the question came up about driver's licenses for illegals; I think that debate and that question was a game-changer. Tim there are not many like you left!
This is very heartbreaking. I truly did shed tears after hearing this news.
We have lost a true and genuine human being. I just can't believe Tim is gone.
Heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers go out to his son, wife, father, sister, and family.
May we thank God for allowing such a great human being to live among us.
Prayers, tears, and sympathy to friends and family of Little Russ. Amazing man and journalist, he will be missed. Unbelievable.
Nicely done by Browkaw, but I still can't believe this. I assumed I would grow old watching him.
Truly a sad day for journalism and political. Any truly good one down. We need men like Russert now more than ever. May God rest his soul.
Thanks for posting this. Tom Brokaw's trembling voice tells me more than anything on his teleprompter ever could. The folks at NBC have lost a close friend, and my heart goes out to them.
Amen and amen.
I find it interesting that his soul decided to leave this world before his father passed
I suspect he will be there to greet his father when he crosses over
So sad, decent people don’t stay long.
