Who is with me? IF NOT NOW WHEN?
I have wept in sorrow for the tragic loss of Tim Russert for 3 days now. I can't remember when I have felt such sorrow for the loss of a public figure since Martin Luther King, Jr.
Tim Russert,ESQ was a champion of truth. He demanded accountability from our nation's officials.
I loved his unrelenting faith in God as well as his pride in being an American. He always emplored us to turn to our greater good. I will miss him... I will miss his message....I will miss his life.
Gone on to Glory, much too soon......
We will miss you! God Bless...........
I cannot believe he is gone. It is true what they say ''Only the good die young." REST IN PEACE
There is a Jewish term that my family would bestow upon Tim Russert:
A Mensch.
What is a Mensch? A Real Man; a man who helps people without the expectation of something in return; doing things the right way; humble; in other words- a first-class human being.
Tim Russert: Mensch.
Absolutely.
Thank you, Tim Russert, for your legacy, and for your clear, sane voice.
You've just completed the biggest interview of your life; and I know you were well prepared.
God bless you!
This was Tim, the night of Barack's historic nomination: " ...I'd love to be a school teacher tomorrow.." ,¨¨
Such a genuine appreciation for the 'historic' meaning of that night. He was smiling, almost excited like a little kid, so happy to bear witness to history.
He probably, never thought he'd see the day when both a woman and a black man, could take the white house, but there it was,
and he felt so privileged to be a part of it!
You could just see that glee in his eyes, his cheeks were red, he couldn't stop smiling!¨¨
This is the image of him I'll carry with me forever!¨
This genuine American JOURNALIST,
not the least bit embarassed to show his personal emotion on what he called a 'historic night'!¨
¨How We'll miss you Tim.¨
Thank you for stirring up our political opinions.¨
Thank you for the passion with which you did it!¨
Thank you for always being objective!
Thank you for giving us the NEWS!
Thank you, for wanting to teach our children on the day history was made!¨
R.I.P. Tim Russert
I am devastated. I keep thinking how this was probably the most exciting year of his career, and now he won't know how it turned out....how Big Russ is still alive, and now without his son....how at least Tim got to see his son graduate from college.
What a tremendous loss for his family and friends and the rest of us who couldn't wait to see who would be the guest(s) on Meet The Press. My daughter knew 10:00 a.m. on Sundays was a sacred time for me (the west coast showtime). If I woke up earlier than I meant to, I'd watch at at 6 and again at 10.
I liked Tim because he was one of the only journalists left on MSM. One actually couldn't be certain of his political leanings, something appropriate for a JOURNALIST, which he truly was.
Let's hope they use broadcasts of Meet The Press in future journalism classes to show them what "unbiased" means.
Thank you, Mr, Russert, more than I can adequately convey. To Mr. Russert's family and friends, very deepest and sincerest condolences.
I like to think Tim knows how this election will turn out now, thanks to some special connections.
This feels like a loss of a personal friend. I will miss him greatly. This was a man who we should strive to please as good Ameican's. I feel so sad that he would not see the outcome of this election but just as he knew where the Primary's were going he know where this is going and he was celebrating as I know that twinkle in his eye. God Bless Tim and take care of his family.
My Sunday mornings won't be the same.
I took Tim Russet"s words as Gospel. I will never forget his words during the debacle of the 2000 election. He was the first to say on election night , "Everything rested on Florida" and to a lesser degree Ohio. He came across as credible, honest, fair, smart, and an overall GOOD person. He always asked the right questions. I will miss his professionalism and insight.
